Have they actually sold anybody yet? Where is their mass exodus of players?

Some of their boys are still on Prem wages, £30k-£40k a week, so how are they affording to keep them?

They're re-flat-packing the new Stan Cullis Stand and sending it back to IKEA Wednesbury to cover the costs!

They'd probably still be in the Prem if they had spent the £18m on new players and not on a bunch of empty seats!

They're holding out for big fees but their hands will be forced come deadline day.

I just don't understand why Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton, have not had to trim their squads to lower their wagebills. They seem to be coming into the campaign with 'Premiership' squads.

Or have I missed something?

It could be said that they were Relegated because they didn't have Premiership squads.

Wolves last year were frankly Pathetic, at least we went down on the last day and with a Major Trophy in the office.

Apparently all the players had relegation clauses meaning they automatically halved their wage bill.

They want £15m for Fletcher and £10m for Doyle. ..zz..

Wolves:
Began full of bluster about not selling anyone - today though -

Quote:

Stale Solbakken today warned his Wolves overhaul could drag on until the transfer window closes on September 3.
Wolves are reluctant to lose £10m-rated star players Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis and don’t need to sell, but accept that if Premier League clubs come calling at the right price, they may have to go.

Bolton:

Quote:

Bolton Wanderers allow 15 players to leave after relegation

Blackburn:
Quote:

Blackburn are braced for an Ewood Park exodus after new global adviser Shebby Singh admitted they "can't keep unhappy players".

Junior Hoilett has already quit Rovers on a Bosman while Yakubu, Mauro Formica, Steven Nzonzi, Paul Robinson, Scott Dann, Gael Givet and Martin Olsson want to leave.

It's been a slow window this time, that's all.
But some have already been sold and many like, not retained at each of the clubs.

And some buggar should tell Stale the Wolves manager that the window closes on Friday night - August 31st, not bloomin' Monday September 3rd.

I can see fletcher going

while I dont rate him as a 'player' he will pop up with important goals - however he is a luxury and not one I can see wolves holding on to.

Would do well for a side like fulham

also blackburn have an aged squad of 'names' so a few will probaby hang on for a season or two for a last (reduced wage) payday

dunn is now 32 - a season really left in england depending on how his injuries hold up

robinson is 32

danny murphy 35

Pedersen 30 and looks half the payer he was a couple of seasons ago

The Yak left due to relegation

A lot of the rest of the squad are younger lads who again wont be on the highest wage

2010 - 2011 their wage bill was £50mil, putting them 16th out of 20 at the time in terms of wage bill - only lower were: us, blackpool, west brom and wolves.

That also explains why wolves have probably not had to shed many.

Still searching for last seasons figures.

Last season their average attendance was 22,551
ours last relegation season was 25,461
so their income from that would have been sightly less than ours...

good stats pooley, certainly makes an arguement for having a frugal board financially... but as some else said... we're in the same league now, so

It speaks volumes for me though about the rumours that Blues having hardly any 'relegation' clauses in our players contracts

Generally though... Steven Fletcher is !"£$. (not backing that up, just my opinion)... £10m, don't make me laugh! :LMAO:

like I said - ot a fan of fletcher personally, doesnt add much to the team, very one dimensional, and lazy

However, while he is one dimensional he adds that aerial threat (all he really adds) but he can get those all important goals

12 goals in 34 apperances for a team who finished bottom:

* 1 goal every 2.8 games

*wolves were second lowest goal scorers (after villa) with 40 all season, so he scored over a quarter of their goals alone and scored 30% of their goals - the rest of their squad only managed 28 between them all!

Like I said, not a player for the faint hearted - hard to watch, lazy but he got goals in a team who created nothing. If he went to a team who provided good service to him he would be right up there - but for a team fighting relegation he wont dig in for the cause.

I read the other day that Johnson is still on £40k a week, along with a few others.

I doubt Blackburn and Bolton expected to be relegated, so I imagine that there is a few players there who are still commanding Premiership wages.

would think Fletcher and Jarvis would be desperate to go seeing as their wages have been halved and bigger club are interested in them

not worried about Wolves this season, as was shown last season, even our B team in our incredibly small squad is better than their team.

Solbakken was such a random appointment. one that i think will backfire massively. the man is a relative noob.

**thumbup

The latest from Wolverhampton "We Ain't Selling Anyone" Wanderers, is the manager and the CEO saying today that "even Messi has a price"

:LMAO:

Is that an invite for MON to raise his offer?

I'd love to see a transfer day deadline sale for Fletcher and Jarvis and them others.
Shame about Rog though, no biggar wants him.
