Sone Aluko; Yet another one of McLeish's cock ups.

Once again I hear yet another commentator remind us how good this kid is and when you think that McLeish let him go for about the same amount as our third choice striker picks up in a week it seems that even now we are not quite free of Super Mac's baleful influence. Idiot.

Aluko had been at the club for three years without making a single start! Also been on two loans without doing anything, Mcleish was totally at fault for Palacios no dispute but this guy just didnt justify keeping.
As for Mcleish balefull influence yes I am just looking at the Carling cup celebratory pic in my office and the pathway that led from it to Europe!
Cheers mate youve made me remember the good times!

Des, anyone can make mistakes but McLeish seemed to do little else and the sale of Aluko for such a pittance is yet another black mark against a guy who somehow managed to get what many believe was the most talented squad in Blues' history relegated. People are complaining about Lee Clark but my guess is that he will never make as many mistakes as McLeish did- God help us if he does!

Defoe, Savage, Crouch, Sheringham, Ferdinand (Les), are amongst many who have been released for a pittance and faught their way back Big Time.

Sone has been at Aberdeen, Blackpool and Glasgow Rangers either on loans or bought outright. The SFA allowed him to leave Rangers on a free, even though he was under contract after the debacle. Steve got a squad player for nothing.

The criticism that should be directed at Alex, imo, is his timidity in trusting our Academy.Training them up with the main group, involving them with their peers.

Alex prefered to be seen as a Top Manager with the Bentleys, Derbyshires and Hlebs of this world, not trainees and kids. That would be demeaning to a National manager

Curly ,I seen this player loads of times in the reserves playing against players who were playing at half pace,He showed nothing for me,hence he was loaned out but never showed anything, the manager at the time who I hated with a passion let him go which in my opinion at the time was correct,

I defer to your judgement in this instance lucky. Des, if you want to send me any photos of the CC winning side please do but would you first airbrush the hideous Jock from any such representations? I can't stand the sight of the man. The only photo I find at all viewable is the one in which McLeish is seen looking down on a Villa player prostrate on a stretcher and in obvious agony and a caption underneath bears the legend : "Ye see sonny- that's what ye get when ye cross the halfway line." I could look at that any number of times without losing interest.

Didn't Sone Aluko score against Bayern Munich during his time at Aberdeen?
