Only just discovered Prince Buster (The Prince of Rock Steady and Ska during the 60's) has died

Had so much influence on the youth of Britian in the late 60's and early 70's especially the skinhead era....right, Des ??

Most famous for 'Big Five' which spurned a satrirical series of singles by some obese DJ fellah named Judge Dredd

""Heavy rain is fallin' I can feel my brolly getting stiff in hand

Gonna be 'Mrs Slocombe's Cat' versus The French Rooster tonight ""

Well, some of you will no doubt get me drift.....look for 'Big Five' on You Tube and check out the lyrics ......too risqué for here obviously....and yes, the BBC and Radio One most certainly banned it immediately but the single got massive airplay in discos and night clubs

Madness made at least two tributes to Buster when they first set out on the Night Boat to stardom via 'their house' :silence:

'One Step Beyond' and 'The Prince'

RIP Prince Buster.....died in Miami last Thursday aged 78

Cheers for that loved m,y skinhead days, first saw skins @ Arsenal in 68 bu early 69 had thrown myself into the cult hook line and sinker or should I say braces boots and shaved head!
God I loved it at the time! Ska, bluebeat, rock steady, reggae! as my dear old dad (RIP) used to say when I was playing it...can you turn off that shi**y sha**ing music LOL Dad had a fantastic way with words!

RIP TO THE PRINCE! along with Desmond Decker & Byron Lee he was at the forefront of that innovative style of music!
