I used to, but lost interest. Then I watched it tonight. :D

How's that for being positive.

I have no idea how, from 7ft odd, you can be so accurate, I know I cant.

Lewis v van Barneveld coming up.
Come on Barney!

Double trouble but he got through 4-3. Lewis too inconsistent tonight.
I've had a couple of bets on Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, they're seeded to meet in the semis. Van Gerwen the odds on favourite but 8/13 is too short, not backing him at that price.

Two cracking 1/4 finals, Wright & Anderson both through 5-3 against Wade & Chisnall. Chisnall hit about 20 180's but Anderson a model of consistency.
MVG up tonight & should have too much for Gurney, Taylor v van Barneveld promises to be a cracker.

I'm glad Taylor's out, don't think I've ever met anyone from Stoke that I like

Anyone but Anderson, it's starting to get a bit tedious now although you have to admire the level he plays at. For some reason i think it could be Wright's year

The quality has gone up another notch. Odds on a 9 darter before end of match?

Brilliant darts from van Gerwen, a worthy winner.

What I don't understand is that you knew Van Gerwen but didn't back him because of his odds. He won and therefore you would have won. The others could be 100/1 but if they don't win then it doesn't matter.

If Van Gerwen was looking the bees knees and the most likely winner then why do you let his short odds put you off.

This is a general question to all folk who like a flutter - it's just that I hear it so much, particularly on TalkSport where they won't touch a bet because of the short odds yet the short odds team wins.

He was 8/13 at the start of the tournament, so had the shorter format opening rounds to negotiate before he got to the 'business end'. He had a tough game against some Spanish lad in the 2nd round who got it back to 3-2 in a beat of 7.
At such prohibitive odds, I didn't fancy sweating my cods off in the early rounds where if he'd had a poor 10-15 minutes he could've been out of the tournament. Once it got to the longer format he could've overcome an indifferent period, which he had in the semis & the final with a bit of double trouble early doors.

But basically you're right, I picked the winner & never backed him. What a tart.

That's what I don't get with all the guys who have a flutter...if you fancy someone to win then back him and don't let the odds put you off.

If I was a gambling man I would have a £100 on Chelsea to win the league. I dare say they are odds on(rubbish odds) but they will win me money. I would not go for the so-called great value odds of Man U at 16/1/ because they will lose the bet by not winning the league. The only thing I would do is look at all the different bookies odds for Chelsea and bet with the bookie who is offering the best odds for them.

Chelsea 4/5 best price with Betway, but Everton look the value at 1,000/1
