Good luck to him.

Did well for us. But this season he looked like it was one too far

Good luck Clayton and thanks for everything.

Agree with above though, it's the right time for him to leave.

wonder how much we got for him, don't think we needed to sell.

especially when all our strikers our hurt...

he was probably 4th/5th choice striker, but he is still a decent player

Did a good job for Blues, often ploughing a lonely furrow as our lone striker. Always gave 100% and never shirked, also never moaned when he was left out.

A good professional. :applause:

The Don
I saw you bashed and smashed every week by defenders.
Usually up there on your own.
Hardly ever reacting.
True pro.
So willing.
How we had to let you go and keep Juke who knows.
Must have been a cash thing.
You had a thankless task and fought and fought
With no close support to help you.
You will always be The Don for many Blues Fans.
I wish you the very best.

first season under rowett he was leading the line and looked like a real good player, just lacked a bit of composure

shame injuries and lack of game time has taken the toll on his consistency and performances

very good free transfer mind !

Always a fan of Donaldson, and think he was unfairly cast as the club scapegoat in recent months despite plenty of others shirking it and not putting in half the effort he did.

Is he prolific? No
Is he a 'natural finisher'? No.

But if he was, we'd have never picked him up from a League 1 club, on a bosman, for £5k-£10k a week.

He worked his backside off each game, a lot of those upfront alone, and in that first season alone carried us in goalscoring really.

Injuries, and age, caught up with him a little and negated his impact, but he was a very good, dependable servant for us in a time that we really were in a troublesome period of our history.

I think we probably saw his best season few years back. Came in when we were on our knees and on the whole given what was available to us worked his **** off for us.

I think in recent seasons sadly for the Don his age and injuries have took its toll and we were trying to improve as a team and a squad yet sadly his career was heading in the opposite direction due to age etc.

All said and done when he returns with Sheff Utd he should be given the respect that is due by us

Great to see he still has something left in the tank.
He's got 2 goals already and the seasons only just begun, watch him get 15-20 goals now and prove all the doubters wrong :P

Amazing how he looked a different player for them, hasn't looked like that for us for a while. Was a good player for the club though and I certainly would applaud him when he returns. He normally does score in little blips though, he'll score a brace then go quite a few games without a goal etc. I'm sure he'll do well there, certainly wasn't disappointed when he left though

It looked like he tweaked something in popping in his second, there may be a likelihood he could be now injured for a while. He has had quite a long recovery time over the last couple of seasons.

At his age it appears that was the problem with us, he would get a niggling injury and take months to get over it. I'm glad he did well and wish him all the best but we had to move on as a squad
