I think £10k is way below his value to any team. £20-30 would be more realistic.
20-30k a WEEK realistic, you must be on mega wages :)

the frightening thing is we (or 'Arry) offered £90k per week to Jack Wilshire on transfer deadline day (source Birmingham Mail). That is frightening considering our financial situation.

Don't know how true it is but often partisan, claims Gallagher is being paid £30k despite only being on £22k at Southampton.

I always thought we could only match the wage or pay a percentage of it. I didn't realise we could increase it.

Net spend on transfers was just under £14m and supposedly they promised £12m so they have delivered on that one and then of course there is the wages.

I doubt if the club itself is generating any profits. This is money pumped in by the owners. I presume they are loans. We don't know what the long term ramifications are for this.

I think the long term ramifications are an all out attempt to get us promoted and then sell us at a profit.

We've already being sold apparently but it won't be finalised until the qualifying period has passed for TTA to sell up.

If OP, is correct all this money is coming from the new owners.

As I understand it our financial situation is still precarious. TTA's wealth is really unknown due to their seediness of accounting. They bought BIH for one reason, a sneaky way to get HKSE listing for themselves. They are not interested in Birmingham City Football Club. I understand that there is a future buyer of just the football club in the background who can't buy until the 2 year TTA ownership period expires. I am also led to believe that it is this unknown future buyer who has funded the summer activities.

So it's all still shady, there are too many unknowns and we have an owner (TTA) who are not interested in football. I suggest we still count ourselves as being in a precarious position.

What utter "scaremongering". Why don't you simply say you have no idea of the finances so cannot say if we are in a precarious position or not.

It's a well known fact the club has already been sold again and its a process that we are going through now. Has OP has said many times all the money this Window has come from said new owner(s). We have come through 5-6 years of **** and finally we have some light at the end of the tunnel yet some seem to crave us to go backwards. We have had the best transfer window since I can remember, and arguably have the best manager in the division how about feeling positive!

Wow, cool down mate. Where have I said I am no positive about the summer?

I am just stating that personally I don't share others belief that we out of the woods both financially and in terms of having transparent ownership. This is why I shudder at offering Jack Wilshrer £90k per week and at fans on here talking £30k per week for Bassong as if it means nothing because we have defined, transparent and rich owners.

I don't believe for 1 second we offered 90k a week for Wilshere however if we did what we talking about over 3 million in wages till end of season plus some loan fee? We were looking to spend 8 odd million on Acquah then wages ontop!

With Bassong I don't think he is in any kind of position to demand 30k a week. He is a free agent and doesn't exactly have teams beating his door down does he. In this instance the club are in poll position to offer what we see fit.

It be more beneficial if we knew what the likes of Jota et al are on before reaching a conclusion on whether £30k is too much for Bossong.

Imo he still has the quality to be considered one of the better defensive players within the championship.

He might not have attracted much attention at first possibly due to the wages he commands but that will change if he is realistic about it now. Hull are waiting in the wings.

I think we are paying him 8k / week and Southampton pay the balance

According to the BEM, we got Gallagher despite interest from several other clubs including the vile. That alone should suggest we paid more than the others were willing to pay.
