I'd go for 4-1-4-1 type formation
Hopefully with plenty of attacking wingers/midfield one up front is all we need
Plus with the new ball playing team, need to play out more than hoof up field so good passing defensive midfielder to start things off
.............Stockdale.............

Maxime......Morrison.....Roberts....Bramall

.................Walsh............

Jota...........N'Doye.......Gardner....Boga

................Gallagher

Davis possibly in for N'Doye or Gardner if either not playing well and Lowe for Walsh if struggles
And Adams, Vassell and Maghoma ready to unleash if not working!

PS Keep seeing Gallagher and thinking its Joe Gallagher temporarily up front for us!

Nsue........Morrison.........Dean.....Colin

Jota...........N'Doye.........Davis........Boga

.................Adams.........Gallagher........

442 but with players added could vary alot as most added are versatile but even looking at that side is alot more pleasing on the eye

This would be my team:

This for me it has to be

------------------Stockdale------------------

-------- Morrison, Dean, Roberts------------

Colin ------------- Davis-------------- Brammal------

--------------Boga------ Jota----------------------

--------------Adams -- Gallagher--------------

We would have a very strong options from the bench aswell with Vassell, NSue, Maghoma & Gardner

Yeah I think Bassong will join shortly as he is naturally left sided.. Wouldn't be surprised if another free agent signs as well

I think we'll see something similar but I think Adams will be dropped for a CM - Walsh, N'Doye or Gardner.

Davis might not start either.

If you play with just one CM there's way too big a gap in the centre of the park. Chelsea and Spurs both played with two holding mids and I think Harry will do the same.

So after Thursday and our transfer dealings It made me wonder what the what line up and formation will suit our new squad best.

For me, 5-3-2 doesn't work with a limited central midfield and even after the transfer window that is what we still have.

So for me, it's got to be a 4-2-3-1 formation:

A flat back four with Collin and IMO a more defensive minded left back in Grounds keeping shape seeing as we will have a bit more guile going forward. We cannot be too gung ho.

The two deep, holding midfielders are up for grabs. It can be two of N'Doye, Gleeson, Davis, Lowe and even Walsh.

For me, the 3 in behind the main striker need to be balanced. I have seen a lot of people putting Adams as the 'Number 10' in behind but to me it would leave us too open to counter attacks. So putting Walsh in there would be more beneficial IMO. Someone who can drop deep just in front of the two holding midfielders and spread play out to the wings rather than 3 players all trying to do the same thing.

Self explanatory with the rest of the team. Jota and Boga on the wings with that extra bit of creativity we have been sorely lacking and then Gallagher up top.

------------------------Stockdale-------------------------
----Collin---------Dean------------Roberts-------Grounds-------
------------------N'Doye----------Davis------------------------
-------------Jota---------Walsh------Boga------------------
-------------------------Gallagher----------------------------

A bench with the likes of Adams, Vassell, Juke, Gardner and Morrison would not be sniffed at.

I would have loved to have seen us go and get Ryan Woods from Brentford or even Liam Kelly from Reading alas no dice but have a good base now. We should be able to put together a few wins thats for sure.

Nah, not anymore. Where do you play Jota and Boga if you play 3-5-2 if Colin and Brammall are your wide players?

Maybe 3-4-3, but not 3-5-2.

With 3-5-2 you need creative and energetic midfielders, we dont.

Now, 3-4-3 might work, might.....work.

----------Dean----Morrison--Roberts------
----Colin----N'Doye----Lowe-------Brammal
-------Jota---Gallagher---Boga----------

Not a bad team there but at the same time not much in the means of attacking creativity in the midfield area.

Maybe 3-4-3, but not 3-5-2.
I think Jota and Boga will probably both play behind a lone striker, like the Chelsea formation of a few years ago. With wing-backs as well. Something like this:

--------------------------Stockdale---------------------

---------------Dean-------Morrison------Roberts----------

Collin--------------------N'Doye-----------------------Bramall

----------------------------Davis------------------------------

-----Jota--------------------------------------------Boga

-------------------------Gallagher---------------------------

Think the thetoot is spot on, that's what I think we will see. Although Walsh or Gardner will take that CM slot over Davis I feel.

Imagine having Adams and Maghoma off the bench too. That could really stretch teams.

The problem with teams and formations so far is where Harry genuinely sees N'Doye playing going forward.

So far he has played in a more advanced 'drifting' role which hasn't worked and ultimately has even made us feel like we are playing with 10 men at times. He isn't quick enough with or without the ball to play in that role.

I think Harry needs to get him used to a more holding role sitting in front of the back 4/3. He needs to be disciplined to stay in that role too and not start thinking he's Yaya Toure. I think he can be good picking up loose balls in our own area and playing simple passes to start attacks.

-------N'Doye----Davis-----------
---Jota-----Gardner----Boga--
-----------Gallagher---------

It's certainly tough to pick a team. Could we ask for special permission to play 14?

I suggest even Harry doesn't know his best 11 yet and may make changes every week until he does, with so many good options.
