what really really worries me is that we have had a pretty easy start to the season
and we are relegation fodder right now
hard games coming up
no excuses - the start to this season has been dire - its rubbish
I still do not see the striker we need to get the goals
apparently we purchased some very creative players - but again they created zero
not a single solitary shot on target
does not bode well
I hope harry is as angry with this lot as he was with the squad they all replaced
we still have time but right now mid table looks a dream
Gallagher looked very poor today. Midfield will be much improved given time.

£15 million spent and one shot on target

I'd happily take mid table after last season, would be fine with that but with these games in September just hope we don't lose more confidence and be near the bottom we've all seen what constant losses do to team morale under zola it's hard to get out of that cycle when your down.

I get that players need time to gel but 1 shot on goal is ******* pathetic

Not good enough Harry.

You asked for the players and got them.

The biggest disappointment for me was the team selection. Horses for courses only for today I hope but sounds as if they weren't at the races.

I know the team will need time to gel but today we looked so lifeless and unconfident

i'll be bashed for this, but redknapp is the worst thing about this team.

the team is uninspired. never up for a match. the tactics are always wrong. our passing is dreadful, and our play in attack rivals Lee Clark.

i'm not giving up on Redknapp, but i'm interested in his excuse after this match. We've had 2 weeks since our last match, he's brought in the players he wants. and we came out completely flat, worst match of the year. he can't blame the players anymore
The team is never up for a match? How can they never be up for a match if it is the first time they have played together? I agree harry is fair game for criticism but let's hold back judgement of the team until they have had time to gel but I agree there are concerns.

I will keep saying it until he goes but Grounds is a Div 1 player at best and should be got rid of asap as for the others let's pass judgement after a few more games.

I think many on here need to take a chill pill.

A far better controlled game than of late.

For a first time team it was OK.

Norwich are woeful. I don't want to be hearing they need to gel talk. He shouldn't have played so many new players today. It was another very poor result. Redknapp has failed

Shouldn't give 6 debuts though, I know we've been dreadful but you need to bring new players gradually.

Really need a positive result Tuesday now otherwise I see morale really dipping, players like Jota etc came here to be challenging near the top not down the bottom

That performance was so disappointing. 86 mins for a shot on target? That was routine for the keeper too.

We desperately needed Acquah or Song. Our side is crying out for some control and tempo in the centre of midfield. Davis & Lowe? Oh dear. Davis dispossessed twice in the middle of the park under no pressure. Lowe.. looks neat and tidy but square balls and no tempo about him. Jota looked a good player but he had to engineer everything himself. Better quality needed to the front. Gallagher isolated far too often. Boga cuts inside and looks useful but ran into blind alleys once or twice. In the end most of our possession ended in centre-midfield where it just kept going square and back..or out to Grounds where the tempo slows even more! Colin got forward at times and looks a fair player. Walsh started behind Gallagher and you can see he's got real ability but he looked lightweight. Good to see Adams get on but we just didn't create anything. So disappointing with the freshness of new players.

I agree the amount of times in possession that Blues looked for the easy ball rather than one that would open something up was frustrating.

Grounds gets up the pitch only to pass it backwards, he should be looking to feed Boga and offer the overlapping option.

CM is definitely missing that bite.

Sometimes I watch a Blues game and what other teams make look so easy Blues make look incredibly difficult.

Here's why

Birmingham Mail:

Grounds 6 Didn’t do anything wrong, made a couple of important interventions in his own box and tried to support in attack - even got off a firm shot which was blocked.

That sounds like he did ok to me.

why is grounds playing ?
We only lost by a single goal, which, by looking at the replay, doesn't seem to be Grounds fault. There were plenty of other players on that pitch, many of whom were put on there to score goals. So.. why is the whole game and defeat being blamed on Grounds. It would have only taken one or two of the strikers to do their job properly for us to have won.

While I'm not a big fan of grounds he wasn't the reason we lost today we looked very disjointed in midfield and attack. We also look to be lacking in confidence.

I think many on here need to take a chill pill.

A far better controlled game than of late.

For a first time team it was OK.
For as long as we think a loss, any loss, or even a draw, is OK, then we are not ever going to get anywhere.
Ive been in hotbeds of football many times - Newcastle springs to mind, and if they have not won its kinda like, for them, that a close family member has died.
We were the second city until XXXXXXX Manchester overtook us due to years of failure by our Council - when even the BBC decided Manchester was the place to be outside of London, and we lost the NEC which is still the only place to exhibit anything decent in the Country.
BUT - even as the 3rd City, we carry its name, and we must start thinking like a big big club if ever we are going to be one. I'm so proud of Birmingham, so proud of my club, and I get xxxxxxxx upset if we lose unless its a very valiant loss when we have gone down with all guns blazing with some bad luck and rubbish ref decisions as well. I'm actually getting worse - as I get older losing is starting to affect my week until we have the next chance to repair the damage and WIN.
Until we get rid of our "its OK to lose" mentality then we are going only one way and its not up.
Yes we should be realistic and yes we need to be patient, but for some of us time is starting to run out FFS. We need to start getting more angry about ANY loss and to stop giving reasons such as new team, injuries, whatever whatever.
Tonight I am xxxxxxxxx unhappy.
Rant Over.
