Moving Morrison to left centre back indicates as I've said before that Morrison's days are numbered. Dean is preferred as the right centre back. A bad mistake for the first goal will have been badly received by the manager.

I'd be interested in a fitness expert on here saying whether the hamstring injuries are bad luck or bad preparation.
This is what I was told a week or so ago by someone close to the club;

These Spanish fitness guys were appointed directly by the owners apparently. HR wasn't involved in it at all and has had to work with them.

It's said that pre season was all ball work, hardly any running, one player described it as the easiest he's ever experienced. These guys have absolutely no experience of the fitness demands of the championship

I think we aren't as fit as we should be. We are picking up injuries that weren't happening last season. We had one of the lowest injury rates last season. Not this.

A fit team scores goals late in games, that said we don't score at anytime at the moment < <

Sounds like there are a lot of positives to take out of the game tonight. Real signs of improvement. It's just gutting that we are picking up injuries to key forward players.

Thought Harry got it right with the full backs last night. A few little more tweaks and this side could be up and flying.

It's a shame about Jota and Che, as they are our best players. That said Gallagher owes us one after that dreadful miss last night.

Onwards and upwards.

Someone needs to seriously look at the fitness side of our preparations. this is not a normal thing and if this continues it will be the first eleven through the turn stiles will be the team.

To have three good forwards out is a big loss. Harry was right to nurse Adams along by not playing him for a full match, so it was extremely frustrating that he's now done his other hamstring. Vassell is almost ready for selection but, once again, he will need to be nursed back gradually.

So, after having an exciting forward line to choose from we are now down to just two, Gallagher and Jutkiewicz

This certainly does need looking at and addressing very quickly.

Jota & Adams both hamstrings done! Two of our top 3 players imo, fed up ...
This means zero goals for us
This is a total disaster
It cannot get worse
Aaaaaaaaahhh

Some on here will remember Purse playing as a striker away to wolves on a dark miserable night, we could be going that way :o

Will be interesting to hear how bad the injures were, are they strains or actual tears. I still think we should have enough for the weekend I think Mags may come in for Jota and Harry might go with the same team other than that. Also interesting that lots of our attacks last night came from the full backs so still think we will hold much threat going forward even without Jota and Che

Some people, including me, were concerned about how our three midfield players would perform and where the passes were going to come from. As it was, we created plenty during the match which helped us to be so attacking. Lowe and Ndoye, in particular, have come in for a bit of stick on forums, so it is very pleasing to see that they both performed well.

Here's the Birmingham Mail's ratings of our three midfield players:

Lowe 6 One really important block when Hernandez shot from the D. Moved the ball better today and looked more comfortable with his new surroundings.
Davis 7 A bit of bite returned to his game this evening, covered a lot of ground before being taken off and won some key tackles.
Ndoye 7 His best performance in a Blues shirt. Lasted the whole game, won loads of headers and got into the box quite well.

Suppose this is true. Still think Adams a lot better than Gallagher & Jota has more class than Maghoma but you are right we should still be decent enough. Just frustrating.

I'd be interested in a fitness expert on here saying whether the hamstring injuries are bad luck or bad preparation.
This is what I was told a week or so ago by someone close to the club;

Sounds like there are a lot of positives to take out of the game tonight. Real signs of improvement. It's just gutting that we are picking up injuries to key forward players.

If this is true as the manager I would have insisted on complete control of all playing activities.
If that wasn't allowed by our useless owners surely you'd walk out?
It might account for why the players are breathing out of their backsides after the hour mark each game.except, perhaps, last night. But most of last night's team had proper pre seasons with their old clubs.
All adds to the general disharmony around the club that will only change once/if we ever get proper owners in.

I have also heard exactly the same and that these fitness guys and the physio's don't exactly see eye to eye
