Okies let's get it straight we conceded two poor goals and will have to improve massively to ensure these errors are not repeated on a regular basis.

However that said some of the football last night was top top quality. On several occasions we won the ball back on the edge of our area and the way we moved the ball around was majestic. No hoof ball just composure and class.

We desperately need che to be leading the frontline. I thought Gallagher lacked a cutting edge. If Vassell can come in and do that job we will beat Preston on Saturday.

Guys we outplayed the leagues best team.

I listened and I felt from that commentary that we were a far better class act than we have been for yonks.

We are not there yet but apart from the loss which is a shame there was a feeling of I want watch blues last night, not the dread I normally get before I make my journey to Blues.

Positive Work in Progress

I was gutted to have lost lad night however i have slept on it and some of the positives were obvious...this was not a Burton away...we need a bit of luck a goal off someone's backside..you can see that if we can turn in performances like last night regularly then we cant keep losing..one thing that disappointed me was how soft the goals were again..Morrison looks like he's lost a yard of pace to me and should have cut the first one out..second you could argue Stockdale shouldn't be beat at his near post.. There are plenty of positives going into a vital him game which we must get a win and hopefully a resounding one and a clean sheet too :kro:

If that game did not inspire you to want to go and watch Blues then I dont know what would.

For those who will say wins then isnt that a bit like glory seeking only around for the successful bit.

I agree, the bits I did watch were really refreshing. We looked mobile and had a good tempo with some real ability with Jota & Boga. I thought Gallagher looked mobile too.

20 games Harry said..and if we're at the bottom echelons of the league then, then it's cause for worry. I don't think we will though.

A lot of talk online comparing Harry to Zola, some fans beginning to turn already, hate how there is such a lack of patience in the game now.

Was at Leeds last night and it was much more entertaining football than Saturday and I feel we were very unlucky not to come back with a result!

Anyone comparing Harry to Zola is just plain thick

It was the 2nd game with the new players in an away game on current form to the best team in the division and we held our own and also played better than them for large parts.

Quite right. Zola is a dreadful manager and would have taken us down if he had stayed.

Unfortunately, some fans are not patient and demand instant success. It's the same when we bring kids into the team and they're inconsistent. Fans expect them to be the complete payer immediately.

It seems that the Leeds fans seem to be glad that they played us when they did.

Quite a few comments like "Why are they where they are in the league", "best team we have played", "Lucky we played them now" etc.

Leeds Forum

I'm sure once HR gets the team used to each other and firing on all cylinders, we'll start scoring goals and climb up the league.

Compare Rednapp to Zola? Don't be daft!

There's no love lost between Leeds and ourselves so the praise is quite flattering. We can't keep starting so slowly in matches though, we're constantly trying to get back into games at the moment. I remember in the Hughton season, we started quite poorly then went on an unbelievable run from October until Jan and sprung up the table, hopefully we can get a few results and get some form going.
Not bothered with mid-table this season tbh, as long as we cans see progress i think next season could see us a one of the top teams.

The injuries are worrying though, especially this early in the season, reminds me of that season in the Francis days when we had so many injuries we had Darren Purse up front!

I have a little problem with this "best we've played" love-in by everyone, and that is we lost 2-0.

So then despite being the best thing since sliced bread we conceded two and scored nil. To me that tells me we are seriously lacking somewhere, to play so so well and yet end up losing 0-2. Is it...
1. Our defence is not good enough (two goals conceded in a 2-0 defeat despite the performance being so good)?
2. Our defensive midfield is not that good (two goals conceded in a 2-0 defeat despite the performance being so good)?
3. Our creative midfield are not so creative (no goals scored despite the performance being so good)?, or
4. Our forwards are no good (no goals scored despite the performance being so good)?

We cannot be overall so good. We lost 0-2. So where is our weakness?

If we play in the same positive manner on the front foot and keeping a high line as we did v Leeds then it could be an exciting game and a good result for us on saturday v Preston.

The crowd will be behind the boys, no worries blue.

Completely different pedigrees managerially, Harry is brilliant, but, Zola signed a bunch of naff players who passed it around well while the defence was soft. We were saying similar things at the time about how we'd find form etc.

Let's hope it doesn't end up the same!

14 new players, 4 new forward players , 4 new defenders and not a single goal scored by a new player with plenty of goals conceded.

Doesn't bode well so far. Let's raise our expectations if we want promotion. Harry said himself that he will deliver it. Money where mouth is!

I watched this and I actually can't remember us playing so well in a very long time. As Clapton says, the way we won the ball back, played out of trouble, showed close control, controlled the game in general...we genuinely looked like a Premier League team - so i would say it is probably the best I have seen us play since we were in the top division.

I'd happily pay to watch us lose 2-0 as long as the football is "majestic"

Just remind me again, how many points do you get in football for style again?

Exactly, I can't off the top of my head think of a time we went to a form team playing in front of 30,000 plus and dictated the tempo of the game.

Therefore on that point I would agree it has to be when we were last in the premier league and even then we were not known for quality. We were known for our battling ability.

Harry promised to deliver a team that was better than anything seen at St Andrew's for years. If this is a measure of what's to come then I'd be overwhelmed tbh. I have wanted to see other fans describe us as exciting and not for our doggedness.

I do hope Harry has them grounded and not caught up in admiring the accolades being doted on them the players. We are in a result driven industry and thus far they have failed. We have to get something from our next match and I'm quietly confident it might happen on Saturday.

lol who cares how we played, we lost 2-0?

we haven't played well since Gary Rowett guided us to TWO top 10 finishes in a row, and has us in 3rd the third year before getting sacked.

who gives a flying **** how it looks. winning is all that matters.
