Absolutely gutted that we've become a club that demands instant success 3 new managers in 9months is an abysmal lack of patience by the owners

Getting rid of GZ I understood, but I thought a manager of Redknapps pedigree should have been shown more time.....disgraceful

But we move on....

I like LC and maybe this could be a turning point as these players need a kick up the backside, cos basically some of them are better than the displays they've shown.....how about putting Robinson as an assistant to Carsley??....he's passionate and always gives his all?

Good luck and all that to Carsley but our owners like a 'big name' manager so I think Lee could be a short term solution.

Don't think he has ambitions to be a "manager" remember his caretaker role at Brentford he always said he preferred his academy roles and working with younger players but stated he was always happy to take the 1st team until the club sorted themselves out, unless anything has changed I guess it will be a similar deal here

didn't he do a good job in that caretaker role - we could do with some stability at the moment

He did a great job I looked last night and he lost first couple of games (one to us) then won 4 out the next 5, and looking into it I think they wanted him to stay on but he really wasnt interested in the role at all

Just watched the interview with him, spoke very well. Looking at how the under 23s played recently, I've watched 2 games I'd love it if we could play the way he wants us to and win. Carsley doesn't sound like he wants the job at the moment which is fair enough but he speaks really well of the club and just makes me really appreciate that we've got him, if it doesn't work for him now and I don't think he will be permanent manager at the moment unless we thrash a couple of teams out the blue.

Either way I'm glad we've got him at the club and hopefully long may it continue

it is really weird to me how much he's adamant that he doesn't want the permanent job.

he's made that overly clear in his interviews.

very strange, don't think that looks good on the club

.....Nothing looks good on the club at the moment.

Faceless invisibles who own the club saying nowt as usual, no leaders on the pitch or in the dressing room on the players side who are a bunch of individuals and not a unit yet and a caretaker manager who doesn't want the job!

Three games to go before the next international break and damage limitation seems to be the 'plan' for TTA

Lee has other commitments that he is enjoying with England and our U23s..dont see it as a negative against club, i would rather we took time to get this appointment right. He was same with Brentford even though he was offered the job. If we could poach a manager I would love Sean Dyche.

yea its just strange. he can't have a better job lined up, and yet he has been OVERLY clear to the point of it being embarrassing that he does NOT want this job

He says he wants to be at Blues for the next 5-10 years.
So surely he's better off doing what he's enjoying.
If he took the management job he's on a hiding to nothing and certainly wouldn't be around the club for anything like that timeframe.

The interview made it clear he wants to carry on as he is - it sounds like if he got the job he'd be worried about the sack and subsequently he'd have to leave the club. He mentioned he's really happy here and the stage he's at in his career.

That's exactly how I see it! (I've just posted pretty much the same)

How many times have you heard of a politician say he didn't want to be prime minister when the opposite is true?

On the other hand he comes from the generation of Premier League players who have a big enough pension pot not to need to work again.

I think he is ambitious though. He turned us down as a young player (for Coventry) because it was a sensible career choice at the time.

Lee Carsley quoted in the Birmingham Mail:

Quote:

I am not in a rush to be a manager. A club of this size, with the expectation, it deserves someone who has got a proven track record. I said it about Brentford as well. At some point I am going to be ready to manage - but I wouldn’t say that point is at the minute.
