Looking back at Prestons goals Saturday we were very open at back. Both full backs for me struggled. Nsue bit like Caddis great going forward but struggles to defend.
We seem to lack left sided flair when grounds plays and when he doesn't we get hammered so id bring him back and Colin on right.
Gardner just in front of back 4. Then Davis and Ndoye in middle with boga and Maghoma out wide and Gallagher up front.

Injuries for this match:
Jenkinson
Lowe
Adams
Jota

I think we should play 3 at the back to add stability, and no more right footed player on the left of central defence. Redknapp admitted he was responsible for Roberts loss of confidence because of playing him on the left, so let's see him back in his preferred position.

Here's my first attempt at what I think the team should be:

Stockdale
Roberts, Dean, Grounds
Colin, Ndoye, Davis, Bramall
Vassell, Gallagher, Boga

Subs from: Kuszczak, Morrison, Cogley, Nsue, Maghoma, Gardner, Walsh, Gleeson, Jutkiewicz, Cotterill, Harding, Robinson

I was going to include Kieftenbeld amongst the subs, but as his transfer to Derby broke down I think this would be the wrong match.

We're all going to have very different opinions about what team and formation should be picked, so it's over to you now to put your preferences. **thumbup

I thought Dean looked much better than Morrison, who I thought had a poor game through playing on the left. He looked most uncomfortable at times.

I also like the look of that and tbh we got nothing to lose and everything to gain. We need something that will keep the Derby team on the back foot and this looks like being it.

I saw it differently. Harlee "I don't play at left centre back" Dean looked very poor and this has affected Morro. Morro and Roberts for me on Saturday.

Why should he want to play left centre back when he knows his strengths are on the right and he might not put in a poor performance on the left? You put players in the position where they are best for the team, not play them out of position. I thought he looked far better than Morro.

Morro was very poor because he, too, isn't a left centre back. And he also was playing poorly before Rowett was sacked.

Dean will be a vital part of our defence, mark my words.

Roberts, Dean and Grounds as three centre backs for me. Morro needs dropping.

Morrison was carrying an injury in the run up to Rowett's sacking.

We had a settled CH pairing in Morrison & Shotton and this 9 month debacle has pretty much ruined everything.

I hope Carsley sets us up to draw 0-0 on Saturday

Reading the Derby forum it would appear that they struggle to get into their rhythm once you stop Huddlestone. I would give that role to Davis especially as Tom, likes to pick up the ball off his back four.

I think this will be a game where whoever is the best ratter in midfield is going to be king and Davis on his day can be the best in the league.

Being honest I ain't got a clue how this game will go, I know one thing for sure we desperately need points. I have a good feeling about carsley though and going to predict a 0-1 win.

Just spoke to a mate who is a Derby County season ticket holder and they are not confident at all and the verdict is out on Rowett , he said he thinks we will beat them ..... They see us as their bogey team .
Hope so.

Their bogey team? They did the double over us with two very fortunate wins last season, one decided by a pen and the other a last minute winner in a game we bossed...I hope we can get a bit of luck tomorrow for once!

must admit morro has been awful since rowett left bar one or two games last season
nsue is not a right back and should not be part of the back four unless digger is right wing
colin pref position is right back so he should start there considering he has only just joined us
