We stopped the rot with a 1-1 draw against Derby on Saturday, but now we need to see if we can take it a step further by getting a win against a Sheffield team who lost 4-2 yesterday in the Sheffield Derby. I think Jutkiewicz did enough to start on Wednesday but we still need to improve our service to the front men. From all accounts, Gallagher was largely starved of the ball against Derby and we must start giving our forwards a chance. I'd play Vassell in the number 10 role behind Jutkiewicz. If Boga can last for the full 90 minutes and get an end product to his obvious skill he can be a match winner. |

I'd probably just make the 1 change with Juke starting in place of Gallagher. 2-0 home win I'm going for Boga and Juke |

Gallagher has shown nothing to suggest he's going to be the goalscorer we need. I'd go with the Juke and Vassell. We need to go for the win in this one |

My word, things are bad if we are back to square one ie Jukietcz. He is a proven non-goalscorer and was partially to blame for our meteoric fall last season with his appalling misses in front of goal. If Jukietcz is the way forward then we are definitely going backwards. |

Still no link between midfield and attack nobody in midfield that can make that killer pass. I think 3 5 2 is the order of the day with Vassell and Juka up front and Brammall and Nsue wing backs. Keep Ndoye Boga and Gardner in the middle with boga playing the lead role. These players should be able to cope with that formation. |

Oh well, if that makes you think he's a good 'un then that's up to you. Personally I think he is a pile of sh.y..te as a goalscorer and we'll progress nowhere if he's a regular. Edited by lowdham bluenose, Sep 25 2017, 08:53 AM.

We won't be putting 4 past Wednesday like Sheff Utd did that's for sure No disrespect to them but how is a team like Sheff Utd put one of the promotion favourites to the sword and be in 4th place. They've just been promoted, hardly splashed the cash and even left Billy Sharp on the bench yesterday - he would walk into our team Why are we where we are? We couldn't even beat Bolton at home and everyone beats them |

I still believe Gallager will come good , he has good pace and has scored goals regularly in the past , he is a kid and is probably struggling with confidence having joined a team that have lost 6 on the bounce and the manager has told them they are useless. Like Scud said in an earlier post their is currently no link between midlfield and forward , against Preston he didnt get any service and I suspect he didn't get any on Saturday . The Duke scored a great goal but he is NOT the answer , IMO , give Gallagher time ... |

I agree. Reading several reports and listening to match commentaries it seems that Gallagher makes lots of good runs but the midfield players don't spot them so he doesn't receive a pass. I don't feel he is suited to a lone striker role and would prove much better with someone alongside him, but our midfield players have got to improve in their passing. Oh for a real midfield general in there. |

Yep just confirms my statement of fact that there is nobody who can make that pass at the club. **thumbup |

I'd start with the Duke because his hold up play is better than Gallagher's and try to see if he can lay balls off to Boga coming in off the wing. |

Whoever starts up front will only be as good as the quality of the passes put through to him. Plus, our midfield players have got to take more responsibility for getting into the box themselves. |

If Gallagher was our player then I'd agree with this. However, when you take someone on loan from a premier league club and pay them a huge wage, you'd expect something closer to a finished article than what he is so far. He'll probably come good just in time to go back to Southampton < < |

Boga's got to get more end product otherwise he will look fancy without really producing anything. But I'm sure he will learn, as he's still developing. |

I'd go with this team: Kuzszack NSue Dean Roberts Colin Maghoma Davis Gardner Boga Vassell Gallagher I'm very confident we would beat Wednesday with this line up. My prediction 2-0, Boga to shine! |

Gallagher runs around a lot. He's a big lad but doesn't put himself about or take kickings and get amongst them like Donaldson did. He doesn't look like a 10-15 goals a season striker to me so far. He waits for the ball to come to him a lot and as has been said above we ain't got anyone to pass the ball to our front players at the moment so Sam, get stuck in and make something happen lad! Jota may be able to do the no. 10 role when he returns and pass it forward. So Vassell to start v Sheff Wed as the only change for me. |

I must be mad, but I'm really looking forward to this match. In the last home game I was really entertained in the first half, and really depressed in the second. It's not just down to the manager, the players have to take some responsibility. They need to pull their socks up and start doing the job they are paid for. We have had far too many elementary mistakes for a long time and we've got to start eliminating them. Basic schoolboy errors are costing us. I'm hoping Lee will have drilled that into the players so that we see a much more professional performance. |

Will be tough given you got to expect Sheff W to be looking to get a reaction after the weekend however their defense was shocking and their manager seems to be losing the plot under the pressure somewhat from his press conference yesterday. We cannot go a goal down in this one otherwise I don't see us getting back into it. For me if fit Vassell has to start i watched the Sheff derby on the weekend and Wednesday have no pace in their side what so ever apart from the lad they brought on in 2nd half. A win would be a great result however I feel we just need to continue that toughness we showed against derby and not being so soft. If we got the win then Hull away looks less problematic than it currently does |

Unless we win by four goals, we will still be in the bottom 3 even with a win tonight which I think will be a tough ask against a Sheff Weds side that will be smarting after their derby loss Defeat will leave us 13 points adrift of play-offs and 7 points shy of 16th place Yes it's still early days and there's 1 point separating the 5 sides between 17th and 21st but we cannot afford a gap to open up Personally I think our promotion/play-off chances have already gone and, whilst I don't think we will be in a relegation battle, we do need to start winning games soon |
