The transfer window for Championship club's regarding domestic transfers official opened on Monday May 7. It will close on Thursday August 9 at 5pm.

For international transfers the window will open on June 9.

With regard to loans, Championship clubs will be able to:

. Sign players on standard loan deals up to August 31.
. Sign players on standard loan deals up to August 31 with an option to complete a permanent transfer when the next window opens.
. Register players who are not registered with a club during the period up until August 31.
. Transfer players out to a club in any league whose window is still open.

With many continental leagues having their window open until August 31, clubs will be able to sell players until this date but they won't be able to bring in replacements after the deadline.

We better get busy then

We likely need to ship out at least eight of this squad and bring in at least seven or eight

That's if the Financial Fair Play rules allow us to....sounds to me like we may have to sell 2 or 3 of the big wage earners before we can buy

Have total confidence in Garry Monk and just hope he's given the decent financial backing he deserves for keeping us up

I haven't read through it thoroughly, but this is what it says in EFL Regulations.

Quote:

52.4.1 A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a Player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan; and

52.4.2 No Club may sign more than 4 Players on a Temporary Loan Transfer from another Club (or club) in any Season, of which no more than 2 Players may be over the age of 23. The deadline for determining a Player’s age in this respect shall be as at the 30th June prior to the Season in which the Temporary Loan Transfer is intended to take place. Any Temporary Loan Transfer which subsequently becomes a permanent transfer (which can occur any time during the period of the Temporary Loan Transfer) shall not count against a Club’s quota of such Temporary Loan Transfers for that Season.

Ten days have passed already and there has been no activity either way. I'm worried.

I also assume that any player not registered with a club can be signed at any time and is not part of the transfer window as it's not a transfer.

I'd personally be very happy to see a quiet transfer window.

Ship some of the deadwood out, swap one or two central midfielders for some proper footballers and give our youth an opportunity rather than go for loans.

Nice and quiet.

i think we have some real quality coming through the youth ranks and they should get their chance this season.
personally i would love to see Viv back in a blue shirt and playing regular footy for blues

a quiet transfer window would suit us, we cant be bringing in another 7 or 8 and expecting immediate gelling. what was it last season? 14 before end of window. thats crazy

Fringe players may become outs after returning to training. Other outs will be players that flout the close season fitness regime and return above their BMI and costelerol targets. Que?

But not in the last month or so of a season, maybe?

I do not want to see another mad last gasp trolley dash with 3rd choice and 2nd rate players who do not want to be here and not worth their fees or loan wages.

I also want the owners to leave all the transfer business to our manager Garry Monk.

4 players I'll be happy! But obviously at a good level. Striker and a Ball playing midfielder a must

This is what the EFL says about that:

Clubs can 'register players who ceased to be registered with a club during the period up until 31st August 2018.'

What’s going on with this supposed embargo then? Window is open and nothing’s been said, Garry seems to be planning ahead like everything’s normal. Seems we may be ok?

Forget the villa rivalry, I'd take Agbonderor in a stroke if we get him fit (sorry about spelling), for once I trust in our manager this time :dancer:

For me, it's all about who goes. That will give us a window into Garry Monk's thinking for the future.

I think we wont be doing any business until we offload our big earners and wait for Butland to be sold... stoke wont let him go until after WC as his value might go up 50% depending on performances.

I just hope we keep Jota, mags, Kieftenbeld, Harlee Dean, roberts, adams, Vassell, Harding, grounds, Colin, Morro.

We need a fresh young keeper, a specialised full back for left side, midfielder general & a target man.

Lads like ndonkey gards Stockdale fabrini Kieta need to be moved on
