They seem to have got into even more of a mess than Portsmouth. It appears that Coventry City have this morning been liquidated and are no more! You really have to feel for their fans, I can't imagine what that would be like, having no club to follow anymore. Lets just hope it doesn't get that far with Blues.

Coventry City - Rest in Peace!!

If the reports coming out are true then any Blues supporter that come on here mocking or taking great delight in a football clubs demise wants to take a good hard long look at themselves.

Chill out. No one has done that.

It's a real shame for the fans that incompetent owners have been allowed to get the club in such a state. As Blues fans we're not a million miles away from this situation ourselves ffs

Ok, I may have jumped the gun on having no club to support - it seems it is a little like the Rangers situation with a newco and oldco, although they seem to be more linked than Rangers had. So they will be playing tomorrow but the future is still looking pretty precarious.

Paul Appleton has been appointed as the Liquidator for Coventry City Football Club Ltd after the company was placed into liquidation following the creditors meeting this morning.

With Coventry City Council being reported as not wanting to agree, the CVA was rejected and now the company has been placed in liquidation.

Creditors are expected to get around half a penny in the pound and the football club which will continue with their League One fixtures, however, they are likely to face a number of sanctions including points deductions.

Yeah its only part of the club, they can fulfill fixtures at the moment etc. But I doubt that will last for long.

Absolutely gutted for the cov fans as they don't deserve this. I remember a friend saying how moving to the Ricoh stadium was going to elevate them to bigger and better things.

Shocking when you think how recent it was that they were an establish prem side.

This really saddens me. I remember seeing them a few times in the old First Division when I
lived in Brum in the late 60's-early 70's. Along with Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton, they had the longest
run in the top flight until Gordon Strachan took them down in 2001.

A dark day for Midlands football as far as I'm concerned.

Such a shame for a once proud football club… This should give the F/A food for thought but they didn’t act them and F all they can do now apart from releasing poxy statement….

On a brighter note BCFC have got honest law abiding owners who care for the club and supporters…

You can bet your bottom dollar that had this been one of the big four or west ham, the FA would have stepped in a while ago putting pressure on the owners. Not to mention the national (London) media would have been all over it.
