Solihull Moors have started the season well in the (Skrill) Conference North League. They have played 8, Won 5, Drawn 3 and lost none. (GF 13 GA 5) Our old friend Omar Bogle is top scorer with 5. They play Highgate United,a local derby, in the Birmingham Senior Cup at Highgate on the 24th of this month, and Leamington (who they just beat away) at home in the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA Cup, that's on 28th Sept. I try to get to a few Moors games each season, and have planned to go to the Leamington game, I might even take in the BSC game. For anyone who's interested. Worth noting that Highgate are top of The Midland Football Alliance » Division 1 at the moment. Edited by Lewis, Sep 19 2013, 10:27 AM.

So still unbeaten. Saw the first game in the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA cup at Damson Lane. Probably their worst game of the season so far, but they should still have won having missed a penalty which would have sealed the victory. But then they win the replay away 2-1, well done Moors. Another Blues link to this article ~ it was great to see Peter Till playing, he still has some good class. i used to like him at Blues. Omar Bogle was not playing, he's injured at the moment, allowing Gary Birch to creep up towards his top scorer position. |

Lewis - I noticed you were posting during the Blues home game against Millwall on Tuesday night. Have you given up on us now? and have taken to the Moors? ps this is not a dig, just interested. Afterall many thousands have given up on the Blues at the moment...and I can't talk really as it's just the Watford home game and the Reading away game for me so far and not another game until November. Nuneaton got off to a great start. I think it's healthy for the area if there is a strong non-league presence. Personally I follow Tamworth and they have punched above their weight for 10 years or more - 9 seasons out of 10 in the Conference. I always look to see if the non-league teams are doing well. I would like to see more of the local clubs in the Conference premier and the Conference Div 1 (I know it's been re-branded but all football fans know it as the Conference). |
