Martin Taylor perhaps. Maybe a new signing in the summer. One thing is for sure, he isn't up with the pace. He used to get away with it because of the incredible gift he has for reading the game, but in the last few months it hasn't been enough. Next season we need another option. At least someone to seriously challenge him for his place. |

I have the greatest amount of respect for Kenny, But you are right he has been found out. I would like to see Martin Taylor given his chance along side Upson. Some will will disagree but all i can say is judge him on his form at centre back not right back.... |

To be fair after seeing the goal you cant credit kenny with the total blame, as communication must of been lacking aswell - should of been a few shouts for him to clear it |

Have to agree with your comments. I think given some time Upson and Taylor could make a formidable partnership in the middle. Taylor definately has good distribution skills and is quite comfortable on the ball. KRO. |

Afraid i totally disagree about Taylor he looks no better than Purse to me in fact hes not even as good in my opinion. He gets cought out of position, to slow to turn, and looks clumsey. We should have made sure we got BERNARD, The fact SB was after him tells you he aint that sure about him either. sorry not for me. |

Totally agree. Tiny is a honest player but does not look good enough to me. But then again Brucey , the best centre half ever, bought him, so perhaps he will come good. In Bruce we trust |

im pretty sure bernard is a left back. so i dont think us being interested in him has much to do with SB's opinion of taylor as a centre back. |

 bnm are you basing you assesment of him on his performances in the centre of defence or those he played out of position at right back ? I do not think he does a bad job at CH. if you take into account that he has probably played less than a dozen games in that position since he came to the club. Interesting you think we should purchase Bernard to take his place. taking into account that Bernard is a left back. do you not think it would unbalance the team if both CH were left footed, as in the case of Upson and Bernard? have you watched Purse lately he is totally awful . the west brom fans want him out. he is costing them points everyweek.......... |

I'd like to sign a new centre back!! I'd give Tiny a go though he deserves a run of games at Centre back not sure but I don’t think he's back two successive games at centre back has he?? I think Cunningham has done brilliantly for us, however he needs to step aside now and leave it for the young lads. Does anyone no anything about Alex Bruce?? I hadn’t really seen anything of him until the other week when I watched the Oldham game (2 blues players playing) and he looked useful? I was a little sceptical as managers have a knack of signing their sons when no one else wants them. How ever on this display he looked solid and could read the game well!! |

Willie When ever i have seen him play i have never been impresed whatever position hes played. If your slow to turn then your slow yo turn where ever you play. I have not critercised to soon but i have now made my mind up - not good enough in my opinion, I would bet you SB will make it a priority to go for a CH this summer. |

I think he deserves a chance to show what he can do. But i guess you could be right and SB may well look for another CB in the summer. |

Whilst I have the greatest respect for kenny and think that he has done a fantastic job for us, I think he'll need to start taking a backseat (ie not being chucked out of the first team but not starting every game either) to tiny who I think is a decent CB. |

King Kenny has been magnificent but as with everone time is beginning to tell. He got away with two awful back passes against Southampton last week as well incidentally. He has never been the fastest but his reading of the game and decision making has until very recently always been superb. Sam Oji won't be ready for a couple of seasons yet; I'm still undecided about Tiny - but if we are going to bring someone in in the summer ..... who? |

What I find really interesting is that everyone seems to agree, albeit reluctantly, that Kenny's days at this level seem to be coming to an end. It has suprised me, given that whenever anyone suggests what team we should play, rarely does anyone leave him out. At the beginning of the season I was beginning to worry about him, but to give him his due, he looked good during our run of four successive wins. What I think it has shown is that he can still do it, but only against certain teams. The last three or four games he has looked vulnerable again. I make no secret of the fact that I am a fan of Tiny. I believe that he and Upson should be playing alongside each other now and for the rest of the season. I accept the charge that he is a little slow to turn, but lets be honest, isn't Kenny slower right now? I think Tiny has the aerial ability and strength to be a success in the position. And his distribution is far better than either Kenny or Matty Upson. Kenny never was good in the air, but he made up for it in other ways. |

Tiny has the potential to be a good Ch, however he's far too laid back and tends not to realise the urgency ina situation until it's too late. He also, for a bloke who's 6' 4" (ish)) not physical enough, against Chelsea he should have run into Terry and kept running; may not of caught Huth but would have let Terry know that he's not to be messed with. If SB and Kenny can improve these aspects of his game then he'll do a job. If SB does decide to go after someone else Gabbidon might be worth a look, international who seems to do OK at that level. |

MY concern is that we have lacked a leader on the pitch.... Someone who is vocal and demanding like Keane, Vieira, Terry.... We have had no-one like that! It won't be any different if you put Tiny and Upson together.... Then we have a goalkeeper who doesn't talk (or command his area) and two central midfielders who are silent as well! When we played Fulham they were awful.... But they never stopped talking and shouting to and at each other and you know the eventual outcome! I have just watched Chelski and Man City and Man City's strength (apart from SWP) is their central defence with Distin and Dunn.... And they worked and talked and shouted and could have won! If anyone is going to replace KC they need to be a leader as well as have the skill! |

I still think KK is Premier quality. His reading of the game is second to none. I did not see him outpaced by any of the strikers yesterday. He reads what is going on, uses his body, and I don't think we should be talking abo9ut dropping him, nit even next year. Perhapse he wont play 3 games in a week, but him and Upson play so well together. Is this one mistake and you're out!! |

Went to Old Trafford and taylor wernt to bad and its true he hasnt been given a run at centre half but i do not think he is good enough to be at the heart of our defence week in week out, he's too clumsy and slow and isnt even that good/commanding in the air considering his size!! We must also do all we can to ensure matthew upson is not lured away from st. andrews, not sure who's available though - zat knight maybe?!!? shame dawson's just gone to spurs!! |

In the few appearances Tiny has made he as been appalling.I dont expect him to be particularly quick but he is actually bad in the air as well.....for a bloke of his size he is out jumped all the time.If Matty is still injured I would play Tebs at centre half every time.Nearly every game Tiny plays he costs us a goal.....Arsenal and fulham to name 2.Fortunately he does'nt play much.I go to every game and I am not in the habit of slagging players off for the sake of it.......but he aint good enough, if Kenny is passed it we need a new defender |

Oji has been tipped by many to be the replacement for Kenny and I think this also. Anyone who has seen the reserves in action and seen Oji will know that he is a better player than Taylor. He has great pace and awareness of those around him, great positional defending and good distribution of the ball. He and Upson could create a partnership that will see Blues through many years. |
