Problem with a loan deal is that would prove his fitness 1 way or the other. If he scored a lot of goals again it would mean a much higher price and other big cllubs becoming interested. At £3M for a permanent transfer its a gamble well worth taking.

I cant wipe the smile off my face this morning, I cant wait to see what other transfers we pull out of the hat.

I said about it being a gamble worth taking to an everton fan who was going on and on about how they all know the truth that the forss is f****d, how clever moyes is that they found out and and turned him down, how good they are at being able to qualify for the CL and we've wasted £3million, blah blah blah....

But is it not worth taking a gamble? It's only £3 million! We gambled on heskey - that IMO has paid off, and now i doubt theres many bluenoses out there who wouldn't have him in our team, and probably many fans at other clubs. On the other hand, we gambled with clinton and AJ. That didn't work. Clinton hasn't become a 15 goal a season striker, not even double figures where AJ has learnt to win and stick away pens in the prem.

But THIS IS a deal worth gambling on, and i'm glad we did. I'm also very glad that we have a board who are prepeared to take that gamble, who run a professional club with a great team off the pitch that helps players of this quality want to come and play here.

We have a manager that players can respect, a board that work their hardest to get things done. Sometimes we don't see what is going on behind the scenes and some fans forget the good done very quickly and get on the boards backs.

we've a club that looks to have a future. The right signings to give the right blend of players and we will be doing what everyone wants - playing in europe
