Copied this post from another Bowyer thread but it relevant here too.

i am probably one of the main people who are against Bowyer but i have maintained throughout this debate that if he wears the Blue shirt of Birmingham city then i will NEVER boo him. I have never booed a Blues player and i never will do.

I may not agree with his activities off the pitch and sometimes on the pitch, but if he performs well for us then he will get my praise and i will give credit where it is due. If i feel that he is not performing on the pitch then he will not get my praise and i will vocalise my feelings about his performances, either on here or with "real" people but it will never be brought into the stadium.

Thats just me though, cant speak for everyone else.

At least we have a board who are running a SOLVENT football club & trying to take us further each season by making funds available.

I agree too.

Wouldn't sign him if it was up to me. However, if he does sign, I think we should accept it and hope that SB's judgement is sound. Maybe he knows things that we don't?

I shall not be jumping for joy if/when he is a blues player but I will try and keep an open mind.

Agreed, Whilst im nervous about signing Bowyer and his possible antics if he signs I will give him the time of day for him to prove what he is capable of (just like I did with Pennant and just like I did with Savage).

A petition is useful for getting your voice heard but I think it might be a little over the top in this case considering how reportedly close we are to signing the player.

I dont think anyone is having a go at the board or bruce but rather disagreeing with them (there is a difference) but I am glad everyone is calming down now B)

How many wanted Savage before he came. Not many!!And if Bowyer gives as much for the club as the blonde tw@t did for the first 18 months then sign him up!!

My sentiments exactly. I don't see the problem with signing bowyer myself. He is better than what we have at the moment in the centre. He can tackle, score and pass a decent ball. Just what we have been missing. He also has a nice agressive streak which was missing in our midfield last season. I for one want that back.

On a purely footballing basis, does anyone not feel that any player who receives 3 red cards and 13 yellows in one season could be more of a liability in terms of suspensions?

I may not agree with his activities off the pitch.... but if he performs well for us then he will get my praiseThats just me though, cant speak for everyone else.

if its good enough for st.andys, its good enough for me...i trust her judgement as she has more knowledge about this subject matter than the rest of us put together
and i support 100% her views. sign him, support him, never boo a blue....
if he plays up off the pitch, bin, boo him, boot him.......
no-one on here will be moaning if he gets us into europe, they wont be signing stupid petitions then will they, oh no, they'll be buying their flights through bmi or easyjet like the rest of us........time to back off, let the club decide how they spend the money, let sb decide who he wants. 4 years ago we couldn't have dreamt of signing players like bowyer, forssell, melchiot etc etc, come on lets get positive..
fixtures are out next week, then just a few weeks to the season starts...... :D

And your point is?

DJ had 2 red cards this season. I respect 99% of your posts, but I feel you are being over exuberant with Bowyer & I'm still waiting for you to produce evidence to back your claim over Combat 18.

If you read the first line of the post i have said that this is purely on a footballing basis. I dont need to justify my comments on a personal basis any further.

I dont think DJ has anywhere near 13 yellows though did he?

edit just checked and he had 8 yellows and 2 reds.

No he didn't. But all the same you shouldn't make comments such as Combat 18 without back up.
