Following inaccurate reporting on the official website of Birmingham City Football Club several season ticket holders have this evening released a statement: The official site of Birmingham City Football Club is inaccurate to suggest that the main focus of the "Say No To Bowyer" petition was the Sarfraz Najeib court case. Indeed the petition went to great lengths to only mention that particular court case with reference to the judge's comments when he branded Bowyer "a liar" and "a thug" before ordering him to pay £1 million in costs. We feel sorry that Mr Sullivan, who not only rescued the club from financial collapse but has gone on to help build it into the Midlands main footballing hope for the future, believes that it is only a minority of fans who feel uneasy at Bowyer's potential signing. Certainly every on-line poll conducted has produced a clear majority against the midfielder joining Birmingham and we note Mr Sullivan has been unable to produce the results of any counter-petition which has been set up. In conclusion we state that it is every fan's right to have their say about the way the club which they in no small way help to finance is run. We await to see if Mr Sullivan will now go to Birmingham City Council and ask for them NOT to back the campaign for a new stadium on the basis that the 10,000 strong petition (that we ourselves signed) does not actually represent the majority of Birmingham City fans. Mr Sullivan, we concur, was correct about one thing however. It IS all about "minorities", and we continue to actively support Birmingham City's match day promotion of the "Kick Racism Out Of Football" campaign and the club's message that "any fan who exhibits racist behaviour or makes racist remarks will be ejected from the ground and banned from games for life". |

No Rags is right 10,000 people (1% of the population of Birmingham) signed a petition for the City of Birmingham stadium. Mentioning that the Bowyer petition had been signed by 1% of our supporters was IMO very unwise. When publicity generated by Sullivan's statement hits the streets, it will be signed by many more. |

I think it's more of a case that most Blues fans don't log onto web sites to sign the petition. I may be wrong, but I'm willing to bet that if you were to ask each and every Blues fan individually what they felt, there would be a lot more against him coming than 1%. The petition gives an indication that some of us fans would not be happy to have Bowyer at the club, but it misses out a lot more who have strong reservations. So to say that only 1% of fans don't want Bowyer is inaccurate. There are many more than that. |

and how many of that many more than 1% dont want him for his alleged views, which have never been proven? OR because they dont want him because they dont like him as a footballer? I would suggest its more likely a lot of those signing up have signed because of that later and this could do the club more damage inthe short to medium term than anything else as no one worth their salt will want to come after seeing this |

We (The Fans) don't get to choose any other signings so why start now? If SB thinks that LB will add to our squad then that's good enough for me. If we'd have had a straw poll over the Heskey transfer most of us would have voted 'no' but I for one was wrong about that. We're not signing players because of their strong ethical and moral beliefs, its because they're good footballers. LB is a good footballer in my opinion and a welcome addition to our squad. |

These are people on a web site you are talking about. I am talking about many more people who don't log onto web sites and who would push the anti-Bowyer stakes up higher. Perhaps it would be interesting to see a poll on this web site, a straight forward 'Do you want Bowyer at Blues? Yes or no.' That way with people only posting once we might get more of an idea. As it is, and I include myself in this, it is mainly the same people making the pro and anti comments. |

Think they are fuelled more by political aims rather than footballing ones. The views of certain of these people now and in the past have little excuse for freedom of speech and more importantly the systems in place for justice which have been in place for centuries in this country |

I'm honest my views of Lee Bowyer are that i don't like him, this doesn't mean I'll sign a petition... If we sign him I'll support him as he will be in a blue shirt! doesn't mean I'll change my opinion of the person! as I have siad several times now! My gripe is not with the board or SB i trust their judgement they are not mugs, if they think they can get the best from Bowyer then fair enough... doesn't mean I'm going to be singing bowyers name from the rooftops no matter what he does... however i will get behind him if he plays for us |

Why should the opinions of their customers turn them against us ?? Dany having a go at fellow bluenoses is bad enough but to suggest that those fans who do not agree with signing Bowyer are in some way braindead is pathetic. |
