I heard somebody from Birmingham City Ladies FC being interviewed on Radio 5 at the weekend. Several of the Blues girls play for the England team apparently (including a couple of England's star players). I was surprised to hear that the ladies team get almost no support whatsoever from BCFC, in contrast to Arsenal, Charlton, etc, where the ladies team are treated as part of the club.

Seems a bit short-sighted to me.

Having the best ladies team in the midlands can only increase the fan base of the club in the long term. Besides I want Blues to win everything !

I would like to see the club give the ladies team more support.

The club should support our ladies team, if only because it promotes the name of Birmingham City. The five girls who played for England were a credit to our club.

Couldn't agree more - I reckon most people who have been slagging off the ladies game have never watched it!

Myself and my son have watched a fair bit of the Euro championship and it's good entertainment.
Don't compare it to the blokes game 'cause it's different - enjoy it for what it is.
It's quite refreshing to watch flowing football without the cheating, swearing and disrespect of the officials.
I've seen a lot worse down St.A's at times over the last couple of years to be honest!

The Brum ladies were a credit to the England team so I say let's get behind them! (if you know what I mean).

KRO girls!

ps My mrs. watched a couple of games and thought it was rubbish.
Mind you, what would she know?

I think you're right. Did read somewhere that the ladies were going to receive at least some financial backing from the club - and they more than deserve it. In a few years, as women's footy gets higher in profile, it can only be good for the club as a whle to have a top flight and top class women's team. Worth the backing imo.
