How can a club who is trying to build on a strong base go forward with fans hijacking transfers? The reality is that Brum is an emerging club in the premiership without european football. We are trying to attract class players to the club to go forward and progress. We are in the situation where we can attract decent players coming to the end of their career or young guys trying to make a name for themselves for the bigger clubs and push themselves forward to represent their country at international level or as the case of Bowyer - a rising star with talent who went a bit awol. We cant get the likes of A.Cole, M.Owen or Rob Keane (as mentioned as possible targets on this board - purrlease!) yet because we wont pay the salary and we are not in Europe so who else do we get? Rising stars and guys at the end of their careers, youth and experince. This platform will take the club forward when we can say "hey fancy playing for the blues in Europe?" But this will not happen if we cant sign those players we need to get there.

Its hardly hijacking transfers is it! 100 people or something signed that petition! How many fans do we have? About 30,000 or more or w/e! I think that the petitions being used as an excuse because Bowyer once again doesn't want to come here.

I'd understand if there was a massive uproar with protests and marches outside wast hills/st andrews but this is an online petition with around 150 signatures and lee bowyer is using this as an excuse not to come here because he is "not liked"

It is really pathetic! The board are using it as a excuse! You wouldnt even be able to hear the 100 or so people if they were all in the ground booing anyway!

Well then he should be here by tomorrow.

I doubt he will though because he doesn't want to be here

tbf I am also amazed how many fans think this petition would stop LB signing.

It is clearly being used by the board and LB, I guess some fans don't need much of an incentive to become abusive.
