Browse the messages - listen to and read the support FOR the signing of Lee Bowyer (the thinking man's Robbie Savage). On the field where he needs to be judged by us the supporters he is the perfect player for us. Think about Jeramine Pennant, Muzzy Izzet, Lee Bowyer and David Dunn (in any order) Fair makes your mouth water them feeding Heskey and Forssell.
What will stop this happening ? A few mindless, self-righteous morons who sadly have been able to have their point of view made heard above the MAJORITY of us who can't wait to see that midfield in operation.

You all need to get a life and get behind our manager who has never let us down yet.

Nothing - not my point.
Why should their views have sway over what the majority feel
Sadly I don't think that any amount of support for Bowyer will do any good right now because it looks as if the mindless few have got through to him

But people arent putting across their views if they make a petition to ruin a club that is supposed to be on the up. If people argue about every sigining that Blues try to make then we end up back in the Championship with out any chance of reaching the prem again.

They are putting their views across! There not arguing about every signing anyway! Its only a small amount of fans have signed the petition!

That still doesnt give a true picture. Of the 30,000 who attend home games - how many use the messageboard?
Out of those 30,000 who is for and against Bowyer? We just dont know how the MAJORITY of fans feel, so it's a little unwise to say the MAJORITY are for him, isnt it???

You may well be right Feel - only time will tell.

What should we do then May hold a referendum amongst fans ? What other way apart from reading threads do we have of knowing where people stand ? I am aware that not all 30,000 use the board but you give me an alternative ? Those who do use the board must be dedicated enough to want to spend their time on here in the first place therefore I take more notice of their comments , and the general feeling is - SIGN HIM. But I feel it is already too late - sad time

How do you know there is more to it?

With the amount of press this story has got it probably feels like a lot more than 100 people. Also in the stories in the press how many have mentioned 100 people, the press like to exagerate a story to make it bigger than it is especially this time of year.

If I was in his position I would certainly think twice about going to a place where I am not wanted from the start.

Lets hope none of the people who signed the petition have the front to come on here moaning next season that we do not create/score enough from midfiled.

I do not think computer users are a valid cross section of Blues supporters.

On the petition overall there is about 228 people i think! There is at least 27,000 at each home game so 228 people are going to make a huge difference aren't they? He's simply just turning us down for the 2nd time!

Yes but how many of the reports have mentioned numbers, from what I have seen they are making it out to be a lot more than it really is. This is a slow time for football news.

In your opinion he is turning us down for other reasons but you have no evidence of that.

Yeah but no player would turn down a club because around 200 of their fans dont want him! Negotiations have been going on for about 3 weeks aswell and if Lee wanted to come he would of! He's never going to have all the fans behind him at any club anyway!

Well, politics surveys and the like use the same principle - they interview a set number of people and then take those results to be a valid cross-section of the beliefs of the entire country. This works on much the same basis - the Anti-Bowyer petition has a couple of hundred signatures, mine on the pro-Bowyer one was the 444th. Therefore, applying the same principles, the majority of Blues fans want Lee Bowyer at the club.

Strange how this new petition has not been picked up by the press, they only like bad news and causing trouble. I hope I am wrong but I have a feeling this pro Bowyer petition will get very little publicity outside Brum.
