My first game was in 1972 we beat Everton (top) 2-1 with goals from Francis and Lacthford and we went 6th in the old div 1. From then on it was all down hill to a point where we were being thrashed 5 and 6 nil by the likes of Walsall, Oldham, Shefield Wed, Bristol and Tranmere. Look where we are now, look at the players we have, look who we are trying to sign. The club has been totaly transformed and is still on the up. Who is responsible? Not the 30 of us loyal fans who went to a midweek 3 -2 defeat by Charlton in the Simod cup in 86. No fan is resposible. Its all been achieved by David Sullivan, the Gold Brothers and Karen Brady. The fans can play their part by supporting the Board in all they set out to achieve including signing Lee Bowyer and its down to the rest of us to hound out anyone whos actions undermine the Blues Board.

Why would people sign the petition anyway? People were against us signing Pennant because of his off-the-field behaviour. How many of them fans can say that they do not want him in a Blues shirt now!?

all true blues fans should support Steve Bruce and the board. Steve knows more about the players he wants than the fans

The fans are not responsible?
So the club would continue to flourish without gate receipts, merchandise and no fans???

Great post. We all have opinions on players but Bruce will know his dressing room and will know that the players will welcome Bowyer. he works hard and has a great desire to win which is exactly the type of player that does well for Blues. I wonder who some of these so called Blues fans are to try to decide who the Board can sign and who they cant. I also feel that Bowyer is misguided in thinking that the views of a few who may or may not be regulars at St Andrews represent all of us. Bruce will have told Bowyer, like Pennant that his behaiviour must be approporiate but we have the chance of a talented hard working player at a low fee. Lee come and do the business and you will have 30000 cheering you on.

if it were not for Ds, The Golds and KB, there would be no club.

I think the point is that we play our part just as the board and the manager do.

Would the club still be around to support if they didnt come in?

The fact is that everyone at the club (fans, staff, players, management, board etc) are all one big team, and with any big team working together in the same direction is the key to success. If we all pull in the same direction and support the people who make the decisions then we will get further faster. By no means are the board and managment faultless to a point where the only role of a fan is to nod and agree like a sheep, but in the same light they are not there for us to question and try to stop what they are doing at every opportunity

i think the moral of this story is, we are all blue, cant we just get along?
