But i've spent the last 24 hours reading umpteen threads on here, comments by DS, SB and various news articles, all regarding this Bowyer situation. I havent replied to any, because i really didnt know where to start. My own feelings are this, good player, suspect character. But the overwhealming feeling i have , is that as a supporter, I'm here to support my team. When all is said and done, how they perform on the pitch is the bee all and end all. Over the years i've read about Blake, Coton, Dillon smashing up night clubs, ricky otto running drugs, and a succession of overpaid and over privilaged players performing numerous brain dead acts while a part of my club, but again, if they performed upon the pitch, then that was all i cared about. I still support my club. I will cheer Pennant on every time he gets the ball, but i'll never be in a position to accept a lift home from the pub with him, nor would i accept it if i was. But my connection to him is what he does in that shirt for my club, and nothing more ! Where this whole sorry affair starts to fall down, is that during all my years of supporting this club, its always been the board and manager that runs the club. If we dont like what either is doing, we as fans, protest, we sing for their heads. But here in this circumstance, we seem to have found a new way of singing for the board and the managers head, because surely by questioning their decision, this is fundamentaly what we are doing ? Note I use we as supporters, although i myself have made no comment, by definition of supporting Birmingham, we are a collective we. The mear nature of a pertition is questioning, once it is called a pertition, it goes beyond opinion and becomes a cause ! I hope next season becomes a success for our club, but by their very actions in this matter, should it prove not to be, all those who have questioned our managers and boards decisions, and ultimately effected them, need to take their share of resbonsibility for whatever the season delivers, and ulitmatley may have delivered, without their intervention ! And when you return to work tomorrow, ask yourself how you would feel should those who disagree with your methods, not just discuss this and offer you opinion, but set off organising pertitions against you ? Maybe you wouldnt enjoy your job that youre paid to do quite as much ? |

I find it very funny how a day days ago the feeling in most threads throughtout this board was "No Bowyer" ... Now, after a few comments by DS every is jumping on the opposite bandwagon! Fair play if you wanna think what you wanna think, but at least stick to your guns! |

As PEWSTER said this is his first post on the subject. It's also mine. Couldn't really give a stuff what DS thinks either. Ive always been happy with how SB has managed the team, so if he wants Lee Bowyer then fair enough. If I was the manager then i wouldn't sign him, but im not the manager, never will be! |

Scarlet Look at most of the names above and they have not changed their stance , there is always a concern that the action of a few fans could sour it for everyone . It is common knowledge that DS is getting tired of the travel,SB was tempted by the toon what we don't want to see is anyone leave or any player not come to our club because a minority don't want him. Like i said before if you don't like it go elsewhere ,Thankyou  |

I can see why the thought of cheering on a racist would be difficult for people to take - i wouldnt want a racist playing for our club. Those people that feel this are not questioning Bruce's judgement or methods necessarily - perhaps they are standing up for what they believe in (morals). This would be a valid reason for the strong protests we are seeing BUT......this racist thing is not proven in Lee. |

Check my posts and find my comments where i've changed my mind ! First thing with me has always been, and will always be, support the club, the staff, the team ! I find it hard at times to understand the new breed of supporter that struggles with this traditional concept of football ! |
