One of the games that sticks in my memory the most - other than those that have already been mentioned was the 6-4 loss against Swindon. We were all so happy to have the lead and then on comes the ageing Glenn Hoddle and bing bang bosh we were dead and buried!

That was going to be my favorite blues moment.

Glenn Hoddle was on the pitch in the first half. In the second he changed positions and the 4-1 lead that we had soon turned into a 6-4 defeat. Any Saville scored that day. I'm goignt to have to check who the rest of the scorers were.

I remember leaving the ground with my Dad upset but amazed at what i had just seen. I was only a 12 year old then so i hadn't really seen Hoddle much or been able to appreciate him. Quite simply an outstanding player.

the link above will give the info for that season,. They have made one mistake on the B'ham Swindon game bit- Blues were winning 2-1 at half time!

There are many moments following the Blues, but Stern Johns goal in the dying seconds at Vi**a Park was truelly amazing and to see all those Historians crying there eyes out will stay with me forever. S O T V !
Taking My Dad to Anfield last season to witness a rare victory against Liverpool, his last away game. He loved every minute of that day and I think some one was looking over us to come away with a win, K R O Dad.

Absoluteley definite,it was the sheer eruption of the crowd that stopped the ref disallowing it,it was like instant war broke out.He would have had to be a very brave man to give the decision. In fact I waited at first for the whistle.

Oops...I always thought it was 2-0 for some reason..probably because at the time I was only 8.

Regarding the 6-4 loss to Swindon, I remember how we surrended that 4-1 lead...I was crying afterwards.

Still feel goosebumps when I think of John Gayle falling backwards, his leg raised in the air and bicycle kicked the ball in the back of the net at Wembley to beat Tranmere, his first goal was equally awsome.

Then Darren Purse scoring that penalty against Liverpool in the Worthy Final.

Both great days (even though we lost against Liverpool).

RE the Swindon game, was a midweek evening match, Hoddle was playing Sweeper until about 60 mins, then changed to midfield. Swindon were top of the league and we were murdering them up to that point.

We did NOT lose the final, we just failed to bring the cup home!

My best blues moment, or should I say moments, is every single time I watch the blues play, win, draw, or lose - they are my best moments. :P

Best moment has got to be when David Sullivan, and the Gold brothers took control of our declining club. Also Karrens fresh approach to put us back in the spotlight. Being introduced to brum in the 70s for my first ever match. best football match 4-4 against Nottingham forest (Watmore hatrick) and any match against the villa is always special but the first game back in the top league is tops for me after so many years of hurt.

Kro
stephen

Actually brummie I remember that game also....was a real classic and was the feature game on the old Star Soccer (ITV)

We won the match 4-3 though and Forest were then still managed by the late legendary Brian Clough....if I recall they had recenty signed Ian Wallace and Justin Fashanu (bigger clown than Whatmore turned out to be for us)

......was the 81-82 season I think

Keep right on

It was 4-3 and Whatmore got 2 not a hatrick, Tony Evans got the other 2 ...... Wallace got a hatrick for forest.
