Never happen but I have said it to someone before. In fact, I was stopped up town and asked by a news reports woman on camera what could be done to promote the women's game. I replied that they should link it closer to the man's game. No-one is going to go too far out of their way to support a women's team when, in principle, it's a completely separate entity. |

it won't happen with attitudes like that to crack...... luckily there are enough positive thinkers out there, they could even win a trophy or two! lets see your reaction then |

So because I don't think something will happen, I'm negative? Actually, I think you'll find that I'm realistic. There's a huge difference. If you'd bothered to read my posts, you'd see that I think it's a good idea - I've stated it myself in the past. But it'll just never happen. There's a long, long, long list of reasons as to why and no matter how many positive thinkers there are, those reasons won't be overcome. |

poll shows good indications, as long as people do cough up :-) out of 96 votes so far 70 are stating they would donate 51 of whom would donate a decent amount. thanks for support, I am speaking to Blues this PM to table some ideas for their involvment. lets hope we can keep the ladies set up in tact, and that all the decent players they have don't walk |

Yes I would donate. Won't be going to games though unless Im at a loose end when I'm in Brum or they make another trip down here which they did a couple of seasons ago and played Newquay Ladies in a pre-season freindly. Yes I did go and and yes it was an entertaining game. This is a very sad state of affairs. Are the club or its many sponsors not going to put a single penny towards this? Do women not go down to the Blues? Do women not fly with Flybe? Do women not use mobile phones? Do women not use credit cards? (I wish!) Do women not use the AA? If they aren't willing to stump up the full cost, which in terms of these businesses is still a relatively small amount, then a lesser amount will at least kick start them off. Is a successful team with international representation not worth £10k in terms of community participation, positive publicity or purely for the fact that they carry our name? For a club that is so commercially astute, I can't believe they haven't managed to come up with a proper solution for them. If it was for the mens team I'm sure someones granny would have been wheeled out to be sold (But preferance only to those that that had bought into the Priority Granny Scheme first!) KRO Ladies. |

Why Cant the blues donate the True Blue club money, it has 7000 members at $5 a month, hardly a mony earner for the club is it?????? but at £35000 a month it would keep the women going. Took my nephew to watch the women play, when he wasnt that interested in football, now he plays for bham under 10's !!!!!! |

have sent a detailed proposal to BCFC, fingers crossed. They have been asked for various levels of help, and I am sure we won't be let down. It has been left late in day, due to mis-understanding between the ladies set up and the club... so lets see what can be salvaged, it would be a terrible waste of yrs of work if lost now, the players would be taken by the other top clubs, and we would have nothing, just bad publicity on sky etc |

nothing is done yet, so no "job done".... 1600hrs friday is crunch time, when a crisis meeting is being held, squad meet on sunday, and if no result the team will cease to exist. The majority of players are with england at moment, so will no doubt know what is happening.. so they may be considering going anyway... it should have been kept out of news, but the ladies set up were getting no where, so had no alternative but to go public, |

I played in that game against newquay, we got beat quite badly that day 5-1 i belieive, we all went out the night before. Things have changed now though and the standard is much better. I played for blues ladies for 6 seasons, came through there youth system, but moved to coventry last year, as found my self down the pecking order when so many internationals were signed. Still have lots of friends at the club though and hope they get there funding, a lot of hard work went into getting the club were it is, they have some of the best players in the game, equivalent to having the gerrards and lampards of mens football. It will be ashame if all the work put in by steve shipway, marcus bignot and michael moore went to waste. |

Lol, that would explain it, its a good night out down here. So was your keeper really ill/injured or was it a hangover? If I remember rightly you had an oufield player in goal. |

Ye it was a good night out, altho your clubs pack you in like sardines lol. Ye our keeper was ill and we had our right winger in goal, who had never been in goal before in her life lol. hink newquay ladies thought they won the world cup beating us, it was such a bad defeat that newquay had lost 5-0 to man united and we had beat man united 10-0 2 weeks before, thats how hungover we were lol. We got a decent turn out that day, the people in newquay made us very welcome, shame we couldn't put on a better display. |

I'd be happy to donate a few quid. I think that BCFC and sponsors are being a bit short-sighted about the commercial opportunities. There is no intrinsic reason why women's football should be less popular or less well respected than, say, women's athletics or women's tennis. Just needs some investment & media support. |
