Lol, i'll just be so glad when its all sorted and hes signed up.

I really dont think the Pandiani saga has helped much in our persuit of other transfer targets. It has been a distraction and a nuicense.

Getting Pandiani on board nice and early would have given us another feather in our cap to use when selling our club to new players.

I agree, I think we should sit back and think this one through. Lets not rush into any rash decisions. Maybe we could negotiate some kind of deal with deportivo. ;)

Just this minute on WM, post match QPR review, SB says Pandiani deal is just about complete, and he was cheerful about it, so looks good. Fingers still a little crossed.
Great news.

Hmm will believe this when it happens, still doesnt solve the main problem a player to replace Judas, its now almost 9 months and we still havent got a replacement yet, very worrying and its patently obvious to most of true blues that a quality midfielder is the crux of our problems - so who do you think we should get in to fill that spot, if Brucey does sign Pandiani who's going to be the unlooky striker to miss out, or are we going to play 4-3-3 at home and what will we play away from home as last season we were playing 4-5-1 away from home so who would be our main striker away from home.

Agree with that.

Also, let's remember that even with RS we were basically just a mid-table team. If we are going to progress we need to replace him with somebody better.

Really, (are you respnding on behalf of rdwhittin1? lol)

I think Nafti is twice the player Savage was. He's tougher, better distributor, better team player and far far more skillful on the ball.

Are you really saying Nafti is a worse player than Sav?

This whole thing with Walter is stupid. DP probably reckoned he signed on a six month load. That takes him to 31st July. So logically nothing was going to happen permanently afatwc until 1st August. Blues sent him back at the end of the season and there have been a dsipute who pay's his summer salary. Given that the deal went through so quickly the fine print in the contract was even dry when the dax was sent let alone transaled and even less alone understood

1) We NEED Pandiani. Going into the season with two prem class strikers would be crazy after all our problems last season. Buying Pandi sends out signals that we mean business, and would help us attract other players.

2) We do NOT need to replace Savage. He held us back, and we should not resort to kick and rush again. Towards the end of the season we were playing very decent FOOTBALL. nafti is a decent holding player - good enough for now, at least. What we need is either talented, attacking midfielder to fill the Dunn-shaped hole in our team.

I think your loyalty is amirable pat. but we are supposedly looking for players to take us to the next level. i assumed when i read all the blurb sent out by the club when my season ticket was up for renewal. that thay meant players of a higher standard than nafti. as i said a good squad player but sadly lacking the talent we all assumed we would be signing.

Spot on, we have Izzet at the moment but if god frbid anything happened to him before Dunn was fully fit then we would have to mainly rely on our wingers to get the ball to the strikers or make Heskey play deeper to feed the forss/the rifle

Yeah agree, we dont need another Savage type player but we do need another central midfielder who will improve us significantly.

Its probably the most vital part of any team and its our weekest area, it needs sorting asap.

imo Nafti hasnt really shown anything more than the other midfielders weve had, be intersted to see what the midfield will be once Izzett and Dunne are match fit, from what I saw of Nafti his passing skills are well below standard and a lot of our probelms last season were as a result of giving the ball away too often. My one fear is that Blues are intending to go with what they,ve got and see where they are come January - not sure about all these promises about money available for quality players yet apart from Forsell the quality gas not yet arrived (I dont count Pennant deal in these promises).

I think with nafti were all remembering his low points that make him a bad player. Lets just try to remember his highs too like when he bossed the chelsea billions around the park!
