To be fair nafti was just settling into the premiership at the very end of last season, i thought he worked well at the end of the season despite being in midfield with another defensive mid. I think nafti will be more comfortable in the premier league next season, so i feel we are yet to see the best of him.

Well said Whoareyer. People making comments on here about Nafti either have not seen him or their eyes were not clear when he played.
We were shouting at Bruce to pick him. He played well at Man Utd away. When he played great down at Chelsea thanks to his midfield domination we almost won.

Like other players this was his first introduction to the Premier league, like Pandiani he can only improve.

Agree re: Nafti.

He gave the ball away at times, but his passing was a lot better than Sav, Clem or Dj, and when he got into the swing of things he was able to dominate midfields against Chelsea and Arse!!! The point with Nafti is that he is the best midfielder we have in a DEFENSIVE role, but he is not and never will be the solution to our creative problems, and to try and label him as such is unfair. With a Malbranque/Geremi alongside him he is invaulable - with Clem or DJ he is redundant. Seems clear to me what Mr SB has to do.

Bruce said on Sky after the QPR game that the deal is very very close and should be done in a couple of days. You can read the interview on Vodafone Live!

Meanwhile, Walter Pandiani continues to ignore his final destination. Despite that Birmingham City already have an agreement with Deportivo and with the Uruguayan player the difficulty is still to be in the money owed to Pandiani. The agent of the player, Eugenio Botas affirms that Deportivo has to pay €123,000 in concept of monetary prizes. It was also reported that Depor has a debt of €800,000 owed to the player, but it isn't clear if this last amount includes the first one.

Lendoiro isn't satisfied with the final amount of the transfer (around €4.5 million). In the beginning he wanted to receive €6 million, but he couldn't recollect that from Birmingham. Now apparently he's trying to persuade Pandiani in order to receive only a fraction of the debt, but the Uruguayan striker doesn't want to forgive any cent. This is the motive for the delays at the moment. Both sides reached the agreement that Pandiani will return to train with Deportivo this Monday if a solution isn't reached during the weekend. It's a disposition that nobody wants, but that creates the necessary pressure needed to solve the case once and for all.

Lets hope we get it sorted out then.

It says that if no agreement could be reached on the matter, pandiani would return to training with depor on Monday. The fact he is flying into England to see us, means that it must be done.

I have everything crossed though. :D

After all that has happened i just cannot see Pandiani going back to Depor for training.

I think all parties must now realise the time has come to sort this once and for all, hopefully come monday he will be a blues player.

Thats good news then.

I have a funny feeling about when we play Depor that there going to try and injure all our players as some sort of reveng or anger at us.

Pardon the cynic in me, but is this not the very same player who said he would gladly pay money out of his own pocket to join Blues........................reading that article seems as though he did'nt really mean it

I don't see a discrepancy in what Walter said Willie.

He will take a pay cut to play for Blues if required.

He will not be a victim to corporate theft or lies.

TWO completely different issues. I know you aren't mad about him, but give him the benefit of the doubt eh? :D

Whatever the situation is - if he signs, he should get a very warm reception in my opinion. You don't get many players of his stature and ability that show such determination to play for a specific club.

Saha has become a playboy, even worse than he was at Fulham;
may be why Ferguson is giving up on him and dropping hints with his coterie of friendly journos.

Saha, no thanks, too much big time for me... is Dwight Yorke his role model?

Imagine him & Clinton on the same bench??????????????????? :D

The Sunday People suggests that West Ham have made a bid for Walter, but it did not say if the offer was accepted. Again paper talk.

If we don't get Walter it won't be the end of the world. I still think that Kuqi should be given a chance. Looking at pre season he seems to have bulked up a bit.He looks far stronger than last season. Must have been on a Fish & Chips diet over the summer.

I think Kuqi could be very useful this coming season should we pick up any injuries, however he is still a bit of a gamble.

Pandiani is a guarantee of quality, he can get you goals against the highest class of opposition, it would be fantastic to have him on board.
