So he has played 45 minutes of a reserve fixture and now he is off to Holland for a 4 day intensive training camp.

Odds on him comign back injured anyone??

I love Stan to bits, but I feel that it is time that he scaled down his Interntaional games or Bruce and the club put their foot down on this issue.

Nah, Stanley is getting on in years, chances at Blues will be limited for him this season, and he obviously feels that he needs to be in the mind's eye with Australia, especially with the World Cup around the corner and all that/

just what I thought you meant, I just wondered if in some dramatic bit of last minute wheeler dealership Stan was to be shipped out somewhere.

We turned down an approach from Sheffield Wednesday I think, so he'll be staying.

On one hand it'll get his fitness levels up, and help him play catch-up, but on the other hand, he's missing precious time with the team and if he comes back injured he won't be in a position to challenge for a 1st team place, until well into the season.

Therefore Blues taking a back seat. IMO he should follow suit and try and prolong his career like others have done, by giving up international football.

Whilst the timing might not be too good, if you look at it from Gus Hiddink's
point of view, it's probably the only time he could get his full squad together.

The 'Intensive Training Camp' is probabl intensive only in the respect that it
is 4 days consecutlvely. Stan is enough of a professional to know how fit he is,
and not overdo it, and Gus Hiddink will know of Stan's injuries, and be understanding. It's as much a Team building course with a new manager, as
anything else, and although he may get injured, he could just as easily get
injured coming down the steps at Wast Hills.

As to his International Career, and his career with Blues - only he knows
how is body is coping, and if he still has the desire, and hunger, then we should
respect that, and allow him to play for his country if selected - this should
be the case with all the players. Treat them like adults and they will act like
adults, treat them as children, and watch the chaos ensue!

Stan has been a true Blue and loyal servant to the club, and even though his
playing days may be reducing, it's not the time to write him off. Both he and
KC will make their own decisions, and we should respect them for that, stand
by them, and applaud the service they have given to BCFC.

At the end of the day Blues pays his wages!!!!

If he comes back crocked again I think Blues should put their foot down, I agree about not standing in the way of players playing for their international sides however if they get to an age where it is becoming detremental to their fitness for their club team who pays them then decisions have to be made, other wise they are being unfair to the fans. That is why Solano has retired, Shearer and many more, players have realised where their loyalty lies.

No point saying Laz is a good servant a nice bloke and a good option if he is always crocked, then he is just a drain on the wage structure. I admire him for his service but suggest he needs to think if he really wants to be part of Blues future or shipped out to a Wigan/Championship club so he can play the odd international.
