if dunn is fit then i would put him in the centre with butt.

izzet would'nt get neer my team nafti is fare better all round footballer, so izzet would'nt even make the bench now we have butt.

Do you think that Bruce will take a gamble on an attacking midfielder now? He must have some money left, at least a little bit anyway.

No I dont think he will. I feel that Kilkenny is firmly in Bruce's mind to be the cover for Izett in the attacking midfield role and he is more than capable of doing so.

Give Izzet a chance, i think he will do better playing with Butt than Savage. I never liked Savage and Izzet playing together, because to this day i though they were very similar players. You have a look at our performances when Sav and Izzet played togther, our performances and results were poor because we left holes in the middle of the park, hence Leicester going down.

My point is Izzet will do fine this season. as long as his fitness is OK and stays injury free. BUTT and IZZET come on!!!!!!

By the way, we will not be purchasing another midfield player, how many do you want? We already have about 7, that is enoug certainly now we have Butt adding that quality, inproving our team!!

To be honest why pick Izzet in the centre? he has done nothing since he arrived at blues, ok he had a long injury, but, previous to that, the 10 games he played he did not do anything to improve the team or have a good game.

Now im all for giving the bloke a chance, but he has to get it on merit, and so far he does not merit a starting place IMO.

you pick him now because when he played with sav he had to be more defensive and cover him

with butt/nafti/clem/dj he has a partner who will let him do his stuff

I agree, Anderton should now really drop a division and play regularly. I can't see him getting a sniff this season. He lacks pace and would be a good signing for a Championship side.

Wigan were rumoured to be after him.

As much as I dont want to see him go, he may think it will be best for him. He still has something to offer this club if he can accept a bit part role. He is one of the best passers of the ball and his vision is still excellent. I would like him to stay and eventually move over onto the coachign staff as his experience and skill would benefit the youth players.

My first reaction to this signing? Brilliant.

Butt is a proven Premiership midfielder who has won everything available, more than once. He knows what it takes to win and succeed.

He might just be the missing link in midfield we've been looking for. A good, solid, strong player who isn't affraid to get forwards. Perfect replacement for Gobbie Cabbage. Much better player.

Welcome Nicky.

Welcome to the Blues Nicky. Hope you enjoy your stay. I also hope you have a great season with us.

Had a poor season but with injuries and the messy divorce, no wonder. Now thats behind him, I think he will become the old Nicky again. Looking forward to the new season.

Nicky could you have a word with your old mate, Giggs, see if he would like to join you this season. ;)

Birmingham City have agreed a deal with Newcastle United over the loan capture of midfielder Nicky Butt.

The former Manchester United man endured a difficult first season at St James' after spending his entire career at Old Trafford.

Blues are set to bag Butt on a year-long loan deal with a view to sealing a £2 million deal come season's end.

To be fair they might have a point, I mean fairs fair when you've got hendrie and mccan't who as we all know have been the, main stay of the English midfield for many years, you must feel entitled to make comments like that.

I am sure Butt would smile reading those comments from what did their own boy and lifelong vile fan vassell say "a small club!!!!"

Nicky Butt a has been?

Too right he is.

He HAS BEEN up to collect League Cup winners medals, FA Cup winners medals, Premiership Chapions medals, a Champions League medal and loads of England caps too.

I'd rather have a player who HAS BEEN a major part in the Man utd machine for almost a decade winning everything in sight from the Charity Shield to the Champions League.

I would rather sign a player of Nicky Butts calibre than live with the has beens who are still living in 1981 along with has beens from clubs noone has ever heard of.
