Must be musn't it... I know he trained for two days in Norway, but that's the last the club has seen of him. Think about it, if he was going to sign, he'd still be training with us. |

I believe it is on hold while Bruce looks into another possibilty - Bridge on loan. If this does not come off then we will go for Bernard. Its called keeping your options open ;) |

Let us hope so. The guy is awful. I don't understand the number of posters on here advocating his signature. Maybe I'm missing something. He was part of that dreadful Newcastle defence, moving to Saints to help ensure their relegation ! ;) Having seen him "play" at St Andrews last season, I ask, Is he hiding in Jermaine Pennant's pocket !? Even though He is on a free, I don't see any clubs beating a path to his door do you ? Maybe they've seen the guy play ! |

also played in a newcastle team that qualified for europe, and also got offered a new contract before going. prefer bridge & Clapham to be honest, but if bridge does not come off then i am happy with bernard |

I doubt they will pay his wages. If he does go there, we should move for Arca. He can play left back or left wing and is much better than Bernard anyway. |

Tottenham are also having a look at him. I am quite sure there are quite a few teams in the Prem looking at this guy on a free. I would say it is unfair to blame Bernard for NUFC defence, there are four players in the unit afterall and as far as playing against Pennant, well Pennant will turn a lot of quality LB's inside out this season including many highly rated ones. think he would have been a good addition to the squad sad we didn't follow this up, will be surprised and delighted if we get Bridge!! |

I think we will get someone as it seems that teh stalling point is to do with us rather than Bernard or his wage demands. Dunno who we could be looking at though. |

Apparently Sunderland are interested in Bernard, so I think it may be almost done.... As for a defender, why not loan Bridge? |

Thats an intresting piece of news. I know nothing of him, but i am quite happy to see we are still looking for a new face at left back. I just found this article. If Juve takes you on trial and the likes of ManU and Valencia have shown intrest, he must be worth a look. KRO http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.a...clid=1247&cpid= Juventus will take four Messina players on their end-of-season tour to Japan. The Bianconeri have a pressing matter to deal with first in the race for the Scudetto, but boss Fabio Capello has requested that the Serie A minnows allow four of their contingent to accompany his side to the Far East once the season has drawn to a close. Capello (pictured) wants to take a look at Alessandro Parisi, Marco Zanchi, Salvatore Aronica and Atsushi Yanagisawa, with many of the current Juve squad set to miss the trip due to international commitments. The Bianconeri will be engaged in Japan from May 30 until June 8, and for two of the Messina quarter it will represent a return to their parent club as Zanchi is still owned by Juve whilst Aronica is part-owned by the Turin giants. Parisi's involvement may give Capello the edge in any potential deal for the impressive defender, as Manchester United and Valencia have been credited with an interest in the man who became Messina's first ever Italian international earlier this year |

Parisi's role at Messina is like Totti at Roma. Every time Messina have a free kick, everyone relies on him to score a 30 yard free kick, or make a pin point cross for a forward. He'd make the crossover to this league, he's like a Dutch player. He didn't produce world class skill enough last season, like Malbranque, or he'd be at Juve/AC/Barca/Man UTD right now. |
