One of the main reasons why no one can seem to be bothered with watching England, talking about England or even playing for England is that we are constantly boring to watch!!

I know Hodgson was 'experimenting' (even though we still had Lampard & Milner playing), but my god we were awful and totally outclassed on friday!

For the German game, I would just go for it with; Forster, Baines, Cahill, Jagielka, Johnson, Barkley, Wilshere, Henderson, Townsend, Lallana, Rooney. (4-5-1)

Maybe we could try playing without Rooney? Cause I can't say he's ever played well against good opposition for England.

I was wanting to go and watch us play on Tuesday but at £30+ a ticket, plus travel, food, drinks etc. It is not worth the money IMO.

Anyone know why we play on Friday's now instead of a Saturday? Is this another stupid thing done by FIFA?

I reckon England should play via different grounds during friendlies. I think England are losing touch with its northern/Midlands fans because we never get a chance to see them unless we pay over the odds to go down to London.

Missed the game as I really can't be bothered with England these days supporting one rubbish team is enough for me.

I read the comments of friends on FB to establish we were out played and made to look ordinary. That's basically the story of England since I've been old enough to watch.

Wayne Rooney is our best player, and one of only a couple you could say are "world class" when in top form.

Joe Hart is the other... he'll be back to his best for club and country sooner rather than later, just needed a kick up the backside as he got too complacent.

Gerrard/Cole/Lampard all were, but sadly not now.
Others have potential, but they're a way off it at the minute

For the life of me I cannot fathom out how Welbeck or Milner get into the England side

I think Hodgson made a good choice bringing Ricky Lambert into the set up and also selecting 2 other Saints stars Lallana and Rodriquez

Daniel Sturridge could be a top striker in the world in years to come ......His problem is that he dwells too much before pulling the trigger and isn't that strong in the air ......teach him to react to chances quicker and to better time his jumping and he'll be an ace striker

I like the combination of Walker and Baines as full backs

Cahill seems uncomfortable at times but Phil Jagielka is a quality defender

Also Oxlade-Chamberlian could become a great player with more full games under his belt ......not so sure about his Arsenal buddy Wileshire.....and Thank God Ramsey is Welsh

At the same time how I wish Gareth Bale was English

I think we'll progress in The WC in Brazil but prepare for quarter final heartbreak again this time

However I do think Roy will be trying to improve our spot kick ratio on a daily basis

It's a FIFA thing so players can return to their clubs earlier.

One word... Manchester.

And the attacking line up we could have avaliable for the WC is quite exciting, but I think our main weakness is centre back. We don't really have a close to world class centre back, and I think this will be our downfall next summer.

Agree with parti about quarter final heartbreak again!

Rooney is our best player on his day, but I wouldn't actually mind seeing how England would play without him, cause it seems to me that when he doesn't perform, England don't perform. Although Townsend is looking like a new shinning light for the national team.

I reckon 2-2 tomorrow, we always step up against the top sides (no disrespect to Chile, awesome team IMO).

There's your problem Brad and it is further compounded by the ageing Gerrard as captain...which means he'll play in all the games.

Things can only improve when the geriatrics have gone. They were not good enough in their prime when England were pish poor in all competions from 2000-2010, so how the hell can they be good enough now?

Gerrard strikes me as being an example of The Emperor's New Clothes, much the same as Roy Keane. For the most part, people are scared of criticising in case they look foolish.

In the midfield that the Royman selects, who in Jehovahs name is goin to marshall them on the pitch ?

That is why we hope to squeeze one more ounce out of Gerrard and even Lampard.

My biggest fear is that bloody Wiltshere is seen as the future.

A bigger thug, liability and London-Media Fave has never been born.

And Roy thinks he is the future :banghead:

Ravel needs to be incorprated quickly and serioulsy into the Senior squad - the guy is just going from superb to superlative - and old Jack W is saying England needs to do a few more fouls like and Ravel skips and dances.

Never thought I'd agree with Joey Barton, but his 'take' on Wiltshire and the London-Love-In comes across as pretty accurate..imo like

Barton's a better all round midfielder than Wileshire

But as we all know Joey is such a loose cannon and gossip monger , Roy ain't going to take that risk selecting him and creating a mutiny on the training ground

I do like this young lad Ross Barkley at Everton......he looks to have a real future in England's midfield **thumbup

The old guard should have been dumped after the euros and replaced with youth. It's one of the reasons I switched off from following England as much as I use to.

The team should be something like this:

Hart
Walker
Baines
Cahill
?
Townsend
Barkley
Wilshire
Walcott
Rooney
Sturridge

Those players should have been given the chance to build for the next euros via this World Cup. I would also add Ravel Morrison to this group of players. Welbeck is getting unnecessary stick IMO.

Danny Welbeck is one of Englands most underrated and unfairly criticised players of recent years.

Has proved to be a very capable player for us at international level, in an unnatural left wing position... has pace, good touch, decent feet, can score, ok in the air, strong... whats not to like there? Composure lacks a bit but he's still young, that'll develop.

Danny Welbeck's problem is that he does not get enough game time with his club. He should do a Sturridge and seek regular first team football at another club.

I am with MF and Clapton and rate him...he just needs regular football.

He reminds me a lot of Heskey

Can't stay on his feet and is often on his 'arris

And he tries to con referees with diving too many times for my liking

I hate it when English players start to imitate this 'foreign' art of simulation ....and even Welsh players (thinking of Bale)

Let's hope Ashley Young's England career is over......I reckon David Moyes will be looking to sell him come January......for the simple reason that Moyes along with the other tougher breed of Brit managers cannot condone their own club players doing it .....plus Young's confidence is completely shot at the moment

What's are views on the world cup draw then guys?

I'm personally pleased. We get to play at least 3 good quality world cup games. Italy are usually slow starters (didn't they draw to New Zealand in the last one?), Costa Rica are pretty average, and Uruguay, well, they have Suarez :ph43r:

I seriously think we could get out of this group. 2 draws and a win?

Imagine the change in attitude we'd all have if we suddenly beat Italy.

40/1 England are to win it, not sure our odds have been that high for a long time?

Some cracking groups though, should be a great tournament, can't wait! :kro:
